That\'s right. SPAM. I noticed a large amount of unwanted posts on the forum lately. The tremendous amount of unnecesary double topics flood the useful threads. I can understand you\'re curious about the game and want to know things, but take a look at earlier posts first if your question is already asked/answered.
I won\'t mention names, but remember that your status doesn\'t rise with your amount of posts. In fact, posting tons of spam \'makes you the child of the board.

well, yes it does, nobody seems to want to have the lable \"newbie\" (I dont like lables at all). I find it rather dull and dont like posting anymore because of it... seems like a lame compitition that I am not involved with. First mistake, putting lables on people and actually having it be because they post a ton. I have been around, lurking in the shadows for longer then some of the repeat posters and I still have noob on my name... ah well, we will see if anyone feels the same.

Same here. I was at the old boards for quite a while. I changed my name because I did not really like my old name.

My first post was at the beginning of September on the old boards - long before many of you came to PS. But I didn\'t post much at all and things just went bad with all that Billy Bob stuff - I just stuck to the smaller boards over at Zeal and Kendricks. But since the creation of this new board I have found the posts and discussions to be both helpful and interesting and the board populated by people I like and respect. I have never really been this active on a forum before - I guess it\'s because at the moment I do feel happy and comfortable here and have a real interest in the project.
As for the board ranking - I don\'t care if we have it or not. Thekkur has made it clear that posting just for ranking will be frowned upon and people will listen, things should be alright :) .

You seem to be making several dozen posts or replies each day, and very few arent spam Valathous. Thekkur makes about as many, but they are usually flames in reply to the spam...

I, for one, don\'t really care what my rank is. You guys can keep them there if you want, since most boards seem to have them, but I don\'t think they\'re anything more than a status symbol - a rough guideline of how long the person has been there. I\'m glad to see these boards are a lot better, population wise, than the old ones, and I sincerely hope that it stays that way.

i\'d rather not have a post count because i dont want to be labled a comp freak or anything but its just when i get talken i dont stop ( i guess i shouldnt care what other people i dont know think)

I like the ranks, it shows who the talkers are and who they aren\'t, which is helpful to some people........although some people seem to think the term \"newbie\" is degrading, which it really isnt, you kinda figure their personality out by the ranks

I like ranks, that way people know ima computerfreek, as i almost have 120 posts and ive been here 3 days!

I agree. On the old boards I made my first post in September, and that was quite a while after I first found the Planeshift site. After that I just lurked around and not doing anything much. As a result, nobody knew me, but at least I\'m not labelled a spammer..... 8)

Valathous I regret to inform you that although the planeshift team appreciates your devotion and intrest in our game - unnecissary posts are not only against our general rules but when violated consistantly are grounds for temporary forum access. I do not wish to discourage you from participating in discussions on these boards, or even to stop the fun chatting, but only to inform you that 30 unnecissary posts in one day is not tolerated and therefore this is your warning. If this occurs again you will be warned only once before you are banned from this forum for 1 week. When you don\'t seem to get it through the boards, I\'ve decided to send you a PM. You already know what I\'m talking about, so that doesn\'t need further explanation. The point is that other members start complaining about your floods of posts. for every post they add to the board, you directly add 10 right behind it. This isn\'t a chatroom! Before you reply, first await the reactions of other forum members, and then answer to all of them at once. Really, I don\'t like to do this, but if you keep posting so many new posts, I\'m afraid we really have to take our measures. This board is for everyone, and people want to give their opinion to eachother, and hear eaxchother\'s opinion on things, instead of just yours.
Get back to working on your fansite, and you\'ll vbe of use for the members of the forum. As you act now, many can only see you as a little nerd that has nothing esle to do than wait on a board for new posts to reply on. You don\'t want to be referred to as that do you?

Please keep them from banning me. These boards are all I got. I dont try to spam. The fact I post too much I guess leads them to think I spam!

I don\'t know what people have said in PMs to you, but please don\'t feel discouraged, I\'m sure veryone here will be delighted to be a friend to you, just take it a bit easier on the posts.
As I have said before Val, just calm down a bit. No one is going to ban you if you just ease off a bit and post where necessary instead of at every tiny opportunity.
The moderators have a very valid point Val. You will get a much better reaction if you listen to them and act on their recomendations.

The problem is many of these \'responses\' aren\'t entirely necessary, review some of them and you\'ll see what I mean. A point mentioned before was that you are using the forum as a chat room.
You do like to chat a lot, don\'t you ;) Why not have a look at some chat rooms and then you could post here when appropriate? I\'ll see you in there some time :D

A whole posting about val? He must be eating this up tons. Should this even be a topic for planeshift? Seems like he has already got warnings that nobody else has gotten... Go play some playstation or read a book; come back in a day and you will have new posts to post real ideas and thoughts to instead of writing about nothing. Right :} Everyone would be happy to read your posts if there werent so many that said nothing important. I know I am a little harsh but there shouldnt even be a discussion about this. Should there...?

I agree with ya 100% Anath. Talad, Whitti, Kendaro,etc. shouldn\'t have to put up with some obvious spammers.

I DO NOT SPAM! I post a lot. From time to time i will post somthign which doesnt need to be there. Just because i have almost 200 posts in 5 days doesnt mean i spam. You guys shouldnt even care you aint here much according to your rank and number of posts!i have one thing, put me on ignore then!

guys i know val posts quite a bit but i think that almost every thing he has to say is ps related
would you rather him be quiet and not give some of his great ideas
why would you want to do that, the game hasnt stated yet which is why the ps team has asked for help on ideas which val has done
