I would like to see a harvesting skill.
It should be like getting mushrooms and stuff like that but then with lvl like with lvl 1 u can harvest mushrooms with lvl 2 u can harvest berrys etc.
i would like the harvesting skill bcuz i always have low health and then u can harvest something that ur health make go up again and higher lvl u need to harvest the things the better these things will work.
but anny way keap up the good work devs i alreay love the game.

I\'d love to see the message \"Sorry, you\'re not skilled enough to pluck this apple from the tree\" or \"This berry is simply too difficult for you to get off of the berry bush... Gimp!\" in a game. That would make it all so much more fun to play. :)

Well, I think it would be more like \"You are not skilled enough to identify this vegetation.\"
Kind of like how you have to know what traits edible varieties of wild blueberries have in real life. That is, of course, unless you prefer the type that taste like burning. :P

Realistic it would when the people who has too low level to harvest something
will be not able to simply see it...for example because you have too low
knowledge and experience to find something like eg. rare flowers.
But what are technical posibilities to do that on PS - I don\'t know. Anyway \"You
failed to harvest a flower\" is indeed dumb.

ohh to make it more realistic, how about you can always harvest em, but the higher the lvl would be like a higher +% chance for them to be ripe and a higher -% chance for them to be rotten.

What about this, u see the flowers (anyone) u can harvest them but u cant use them, it could appear a message saying: \"mmmh, What the hell am I doing?...\" and nothing happens :D

Or maybe anything you harvested would be either a) only mildly filling or b) highly toxic, and then after nearly dying you stagger into town and buy a healing potion, recouping your costs by selling \"herbs\" to various unsuspecting city slickers?

I vote we have items like:
Wooden Shield of Many Daisies (+5% chance on picking daisies)
khrm ...what\'s wrong with the farmer skill, btw? (*starts dreaming of magical farming equipment*) ...no but seriously, any moron can pick up a flower, then you have to have herbal skill to know what to do with it and so on. ...if you want to harvest you have to sew, therefore be a farmer :]
p.s. btw, we have both the Herbal and Farmer skills already in (farmer doesn\'t work yet, but what the heck)

Wel if u say like not real then listen to this: the higher the lvl the faster the harvesting would be , that would make more sense i gues like you can always harvest flowers but the higher the lvl the faster u can bcuz ur skilled with ur knive in cutting them good.
And there don\'t have to be fields for them they can just stand in a place anny where just like bushes in the fields there are wild flowers all over the world u can pick and they will be there for effer just make a few places with like a cherry bush or apple tree \'s and then u can harvest of them.
That won\'t take much space bcuz u just have to place a few bushes or tree\'s where u can harvest from.

I\'m quite confident that the farming skill and herbal skill pretty much sum it up.

jes true but i was going bout harvesting stuff to heal u not making potions and stuff thats to hard for noobs if u know wat i meen harvesdting would just be for beginner or grown ups that want to get food

erm ...yea, but why would you want a special harvest skill for noobies. It doesn\'t make sense to me - making it a skill, already makes that action harder to do by noobies.

Its not a special skill for noobs its a skill that everyone could use and i ment that the herbal skill was to hard for noobs not that this skill was only for noobs.
I mean with the harvesting skill u could get healt not as much as wenn u nuse a potion but a bit and potions are much harder to make so.
And i dont only think bout healing stuff think bout vegetables that gives u vitamines that could raise ur speed or ur defence for a while.
U see its not bout potions its bout the way of nature.
But anny way Defs keep up the good work

You can already now pick up mushrooms (probably even other stuff sometime soon) and eat them. You don\'t need any skill for that.
If you have something really cool in mind, and I\'m really just completely misunderstanding you (and most of thet others here with me, I think), please express your idea more clearly...

well maybe harvesting and farming could be done in the town of Homestead?
If you don\'t know what Homestead is you can talk to Taulim Wilaal outside Jayose\'s library.

Maybe only if your harvesting is good enough then you could harvest certain rare herbs. If a plant is poisonous unprepared, then you should only be able to only take the non poisonous part of the plant for use. The same thing could apply to animals, you could ?harvest? the non poisonous parts of an animal for a potion or spell, otherwise you risk poisoning yourself with it.

I\'m begining to like this idea. I don\'t think any skill level should determine if you can even pick the thing up, but making good use of it is a different matter. I suggest something like this:
No herbal skill: Can pick stuff, but can\'t identify anything => Can only blindly sell them
Slight herbal skill: Can identify common herbs, but can only make simple, common things from them
Moderate herbal skill: Can identify all herbs, but can\'t make full use of the rare ones
High herbal skill: Can use every part of every herb, and can make complex potions/stuff from them

Yea, yea ...sure ...but what has that to do with harvesting??? Untill now we\'ve just talked about the herbal skill (which we already have).
I\'m starting to really think this topic\'s a waste of space :(

I like Cyberchu\'s idea and to be honest its better then my own .
The harvesting skill would make u loot more of a monster bcuz some parts ar difficult to get of them and wenn ur good ad harvesting (this can be made out by lvls or the times u did it) the better u are at haresting the more change u got to get it good of the animal without distroing it.
This idea makes more sense then my own.
