Title: Another guide to running planeshift on Mac OS X (this one without cha0
Post by: Darkcast on June 06, 2005, 02:46:49 am
Ok this guide is to run planeshift without chaos\' updater (i couldn\'t dl his updater).  If people actually read the README file of this game they would know this.

Anyway here it goes.

1. Download Planeshift off the main website http://www.planeshift.it/download.html

2.  When it\'s finished run the updater (if the updater works then your fine. if it doesn\'t then go to step 3)

3.  Ok so it crashed on you.  Now we have to force run the updater.  To do this go into the main Hardrive (default name as Macintosh HD)

4. go to \"applications\"

5. go to \"utilities\"

6.  double click on \"terminal\"

7. type in \"cd location of folder/planeshift3d\"  (without the quotes_  (Example  cd desktop/planeshift3d)

8. now type in \"./updater.app/Contents/MacOS/updater\"  (without the quotes).  this will force the updater to open and stay open.

9. Now click \"update\" and let the updater do this thing (time to sit back and relax for a really long time)

10.  Now planeshift should be updated.  If the client crashes you might have to go to Cha0s\' guide for running planeshift and follow his steps for after applying the update.  (which i am to lazy to post).  The link to his guide is http://planeshift.oodlz.com/wbboard/thread.php?threadid=14416&boardid=32&styleid=3&sid=96983d4e026a916cf7b3f2cd8be54806
