Title: Install problems! Help!
Post by: brandon123 on June 09, 2005, 06:47:08 pm
When I try to run the installer, it says this.

The Installer you are trying to use is corrupted or incomplete.
This could be the result of a damaged disk, a failed download, or a virus.

You may want to contact the auther of this installer and obtain a new copy.

it may be possible to skip this check using the /NCRC command line switch (NOT RECCOMENDED)

I have downloaded ALL 4 links and Bittorrent.

None work. Playnta or whatever it is cannot be found. I\'m
using firefox. I really want to play this game.

Make sure you\'re not using a download manager/accelerator as this can corrupt files.

I don\'t use Download Accelerators, I just use Firefox DL manager. The bittorrent link goes to 96% and then stops.
Then it doesn\'t do anything. What am I doing wrong!
I have downloaded AGAIN from ALL mirrors and BT.
Nope...

Well I am having the same Problem. Anyway to turn off the Download Manager? I really want to play the game!
I don\'t even know though if I am using a manager though. Can you tell me how to find it and turn it off? Thankyou!

UPDATE ON POST: Nevermind about my problem. I just downloaded Mirror 2 on this site: http://planeshift.xpam.de//
BTW this game rocks!

I used a download manager to download it just fine.  Some are just crappy, that\'s all.  (Kazza\'s built-in garbage for example...)  Here are some decent free/shareware suggestions:
Pricelessware\'s suggestions (http://www.pricelessware.org/thelist/net.htm#Download%20Manager) (3 listed there)
Net Transport (http://www.xi-soft.com/) (I use this one right now)

Just make sure you don\'t go overboard on the streams; Planeshift\'s download servers have limited bandwidth.
