Title: Monsters and Fighting

Are there monsters that attack unporvoked or do you have to initiate the fighting?

I would like to know, that is if it doesn\'t interefere with my discovery of things in this game. I\'d rather not have myself walking around thinking I\'m safe when I\'m, not or thinking I\'m in danger, when there isn\'t any.

Well, most monsters attack, although some are just... dumb and don\'t move at all. :P  Also, some npc\'s that look like players can fight against you, but they aren\'t aggressive as far as I know.

I have never seen a monster attack. I have seen them walk towards me and then follow me around. But they never \"attack\". Bnadits in the dungeon are an example of this.

Rogues are the most common attackers, though they can be spontaneous about their ambushes. As long as you stay away from one, you\'ll be fine.

They used to attack more than they do now.  Before the last big update, they could waddle up to you and start attacking.  Now, they often walk up to and then through you and go off into a wall or the distance.  Often they just ignore you outright.  Many of the most deadly monsters in the game can be avoided by pacifism, at the moment.   :P  Hopefully, these AI bugs will be fixed soon.

Ah, okay. That\'s makes a bit of sense seeing as I was walking around and all the monsters were just walking around as well.

So I guess I\'ll have to be more careful in the future.

i can still remember my first encounter with a rouge. (i was very new to the game at that time):

*kikiricy walks up to a rouge, greets him..uses some time standing next to him looking at him...says \"hi\" even though he knows that the rouge wont reply...kikiricy waits some more...10 minutes later the rouge lifts his word and walks away*

seriously this is what happened, so i must say that this game is really...what to say...peacefull :) fine with me though.

even if they do attack you they can only walk while you can run, so you\'re in no danger. as long as your a step ahead ;)
