Hi,
to me it seems that most of the time the server of these boards does not answer my requests and times out.
I think it may have something to do with my DSL router/NAT, but I am not able to track the problem.
In my office at work this problem occurs less frequently. (Maybe beacuse we have a permanent network connection there.)
Has anybody else seen this problem? Does anybody have an idea how to fix this?
Thanks for your help...

Try to use the real URL:

Same problem.
Strange thing is: I can always access the head node.
The timeouts occur when I try to enter a specific board or thread...

try using a different browser.
I have the exact same version when I access the boards from my laptop, which has a newer version of firefox. With this older version of FF, it works fine.

Hmmm.
Seems to be a browser issue.
I tried with Mozilla 1.7 and Firefox 1.1 where the problem persists.
On the other hand Konqueror seems to run smoothly.
Does anybody have an idea what the reason for this behavior might be?

Different browsers use a different strategy on when they actually start to display a page. Many people use slow hosts for the images in their signatures, which probably disturbs some browsers (they are waiting on image data and won\'t display anything before not X% of total content is in your local cache)
Check here (http://www.tweakfactor.com/articles/tweaks/firefoxtweak/4.html) and here (http://forums.mozillazine.org/viewtopic.php?t=53650&postdays=0&postorder=asc&postsperpage=15&start=0) for FireFox tweaking. Use at your own risk!

I just upgraded firefox to version 1.04 (I think it\'s the latest, at least it\'s the latest in the Gentoo portage tree), and the issue seems to have been resolved, no tweaking necessary.
