Title: mug-bug
Post by: Rilar on June 12, 2005, 04:30:55 pm
Hello,

This report is about a weird experience I had with my mug.
Two days ago, i had some things (sword, pick, ...) and a mug in my inventory. I stored about 20 gold in my mug and was about to sell it to Harnquist.
As I realized that I cant sell it directly out of the mug, I wanted to get the gold first in my inventory. But that worked only with one gold orb at once. I wanted to get some more orbs out, but it only worked with one single more. Normally, I can transport about 14 orbs in my inventory, now i had to use two slots with only one orb in each.
I sold the two and tried the same procedure again. Again it worked. After that, I tried it again, but than I clicked per chance not in the inventory, but outside. Normally, than the thing would be lying outside and one would have to grab it again. But now the gold disappeared. I clicked on my pick (which was in the normal inventory) and moved it to another slot in the inventory, but again it disappeared by letting it go.
I wanted to reopen the mug and get the gold out, but by clicking on the mug all things in my inventory disappeared. It was a real shock! I logged out and today I joined again. Now the things are there again, but (as I was warned before) the gold in the mug is gone...

I also made a petition on that, but now I think I will close it, since it isnt as detailed as this report.
Hope this is helpful.

Bye,
amogorkon

Mugs were removed after being sold for only a day or so because it was found that they had many issues-  the Devs are working on it.

It is true you can put into your mug as many items as you wish. the only problem is that, it is often problem to get them out of the mug ;).
After some tests I made, I think this what is inside mug, gets bugged and disappear after your items+these in mug are heavier than you can weight.

But the fact is mug shouldn\'t be used for storing items. The only purpose (which I see) of possibility putting items inside it, is to put there different bevarages and liquids (which dont exist yet of course)

I had not noticed that there was such a bug! I tested with mushrooms, and yes, you lose any item that is added beyond your limit. So the inventory window does not list weight added to containers, and you are not stopped from taking more, but it is not there... weird.

I think mugs are containers more so tehy could be tested- they will be limited later :)

Well, things that are not freely available ingame always have a good reason for not being available. Usually the reason is that it\'s bugged beyond any public testing. The other is that some are special gifts to GMs. Mugs belong in the first category, thus I have used my mug for RPing only. :)
