Waiting for Updater to finish its first update routine

It seems to be so slow :(

Is there any suggestion in order to make it quicker ? How long is it supposed to work on the first update after the package installation ?

Thx for help, and for great game and effort

try running it in auto mode.  Not sure how to do this in windows, but it\'s posted in many places, look around.  on the offchance that you\'re a linux user, just run ./updater --auto.

it may not actually speed it up much, but it should speed  it up some.  Hope this helps.

Greetings and welcome to the PlaneShift community. :)

In Windows, you need to rightclick the shortcut to the Updater and choose Properties. In there, you add \"--auto\" to the end of the target line, outside the quotes.

So your target line should read something like this:

\"C:\\Program Files\\PlaneShift Crystal Blue\\updater.exe\" --auto

(Note the exact placement of quotation marks.)

The Updater will be slow regardless, since its a more of a server issue (or so says blueCommand...). Oh well, stick a movie on while you wait and it\'ll be done before you realise. :)

What does auto do? Does it automaticly run every time you turn it on? Does it automaticly update without you typing update?

No, it simply doesn\'t start the GUI, that is the graphical window that shows you what it\'s doing.  Instead, it shows you what it is doing in the command line.
