Title: First Time Load
Post by: irishbred5 on June 18, 2005, 03:30:14 am
OK. I just found out about this game and I downloaded it, but after I create my character and try to join it gives me the three messages included below. Any help you guys. I have a feeling it is going to be an easy fix and I am going to feel stupid.

1) Something unexpected happened in PlaneShift: Crystal Blue   Exception address: 7C00724A, Exception Code: C0000005

2) Saved dump file to \'C:\\Program Files\\PlaneShift Crystal Blue\\PlaneShift_Pionex Drader_Version_May 18 2005_Addr7C00724A.dmp

3) The instruction at \"0x7c910f29\" referenced memory at 0x00000001\". The memory could not be \"read\".
Click on OK to terminate the program. - this message is from psclient.exe

I\'m not sure if this will be enough to fix it, but: have you tried updating yet? This is almost a necessity before you run the game. Do post again if the problem persists.

I tried updating just after I made my post, and low and behold the problem persists.
Title: Sound

Nevermind it was the sound, but my family runs multiple profiles on XP so it runs too slow. any suggestions for that?  System Specs: Pentium 4 2.4Ghz  256MB of RAM.

well the only idea that comes to mind is upgrade your RAM, Planeshift eats up memory, it is recommened to use at least 1gig, so it is not a problem of multiple user profiles.  It is using 256meg ram that is slowing you down... But here are the minimum requirements:

Windows 98, ME, 2000 or XP, Mac OS X 10.2.6, Linux, FreeBSD or Solaris
GeForce 2 or higher 3D graphics card
1 Ghz CPU
512 MB RAM
1 GB free disk space
56k modem Internet connection

Granted it will \"work\" with less, but playabilty, well...  :(
