It all started out with some harmless plans for world conquest between friends:
i want to try to get an ulber into town
not alone though. that would be too risky
ill play.
so we set off to the ruins and returned with one Ulber in tow. We arrived at the gates and found a problem....

The Rux had to go something about past his bed time, but i didnt give up.
some stuff im not allowed to tell you goes here.... but eventualy SUCCESS!
The pitiful citizens rallied in an attempt to stop me
(http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y273/drey7/peoplesstuff.jpg)
but they were too weak
(http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y273/drey7/pfft.jpg)
Things took an unexpcted change for the better
(http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y273/drey7/ulberconquest.jpg)
But then greater being interfeared with the plans,
(http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y273/drey7/sacrifice.jpg)
It was then agreed that the horde must be dispersed along with the citizens and others i helped to destry my evil minions.
and they all lived happily ever after...
thank you to moogie, xordan and any others involved and sorting the mess out.
and for my fans...

Bravo! That was fun! :) Very brave of you to sacrifice yourself to please the vengeful goddess Laanx.
Let\'s hope this doesn\'t happen again anytime soon. xD
-
my spelling and grammar is so bad... im not fixing it.
-
Drey my friend, I am gladdened to see that you changed your ways and helped to end the terror though I doubt it was without much coercion that you agreed to help vanquish your minions. Though a little (or a lot) of chaos is good occasionly to liven the spirit and get the blood flowing this may have been a bit much ;)
Hmm, though good does seem to have come from this for now there is another event great in PlaneShift history that can be chronicled as well as be written about in tales by the those of bardic profession :D
*Mumbling* Hmm, now where did I put my quill I know I left it here somewhere... wait a moment I dont own a quill, o\'well someone else can scribe down the events and I will just eat something.
*Picks up a hunk of meat off the ground* Strange I dont remember the butcher leaving meat on the street this day of the week before...
-
ey.. in my defense.. i lagged as soon as I got near that thing.. ;) noticed i didnt get any shots in.. >.< but it was alot of fun. :)
-
Did you actually get Ulbe to go into town?? He always rebels against it with me! And after all the ale I\'ve given him! Just because I\'ve tried a few experiments on him with Herder magic is no reason ta get stubborn on me! Hmm..maybe I can get his twin brother to go...I wonder if he\'s still mad at me for the levitation spell...

Wow. Impressive. Bravo Drey.
-
when did this happen?....looks interesting...cool
-
Im interested in how exactly you did this. Firstly, in the second picture you had no less than 10 ulbernauts in the town center. To lead this many back would take a very long time and they would have probablly been killed one by one as you brought them back.
Secondly, i myself tried this same thing a month ago, with a variety of creatures. Creatures cannot cross sector boundaries, which means that the furthest you can get them is just past the bend in the road that takes you out of the forest and into the plains. (Theres a sector boundary here but you dont usually notice it.) Unless the devs have changed this recently, which i highly doubt, you couldnt have done this as you claimed.
The logical explanation is that you somehow convinced a dev to spawn ulbernaults in the Town Square, which explains why there were so many.
-
im not alowed to explain how, but once i got one in \"magic\" created like 70 spawns.
-
You can tell them they were dev-spawned, though, just not the method in which you brought the first Ulber in.
-
what she said
*points at moogie*
-
Aye, Ayshe and Drog and I have attempted this at some point but the sector-crossing problem made for a poor ending. Nice adventure you\'ve created, though! :)
-
Well, way to go cousin! :D
I\'m proud of you cousin Drey!
*hug* <3 :D
-
Drey \\o/
Now you could try to educate them so they could clean the mess in the plaza and gently throw trolls out of town, a GM ulbernaut, yehaaaa!
-
Well you should have listening to me when I was talking about strengthing the defense of the city! Luckily we had the likes of Drey in the right place at the right time.
-
Actually I saw an outnumbered Yliakean defence force of volunteers bring harsh blows to the Ulbernaut invasion army. It was a fearsome sight to wake up in the middle of a battle field, but after the initial fear it lifted my spirit. I saw all the different races fight together against a common enemy. For once they weren\'t killing eachother.
I \'ve always been convinced that there is nothing better to unite people than having a common enemy. So Drey you did a good job in my eyes.
-
Hmm, maybe they were the original inhabitants of Hydlaa and we were the monsters untill one of them named \"Rrey\" let one of us in and then we spawned, but unlike us this time they were beaten back. I feel your for your spirits Ulbernauts and remember at some points the cycle will once again put you in power, I just hope you remember my support when that happens.
-
Your action with the ulbernauts was really funny. I have died about twenty times, but it was very cool. :)
-
I was thinking that an event like this (maby even on a regular or semi regular basis might make for a boost to ingame player comunity and how most players react to each other. No I\'m not just saying this because the first one happened while I was gone.
-
Yup, i agree with you Hatchnet, it was one of my best days in Yliakum and it was great to see all the citysens fighting side by side, helping each other. This happened while Twin Blades of Arete and The Dragon Council were at war but i\'ve been part of many groups that day and many of those groups were formed by members of the bothe afore mentioned guilds. Everybody stood together to defend the town. It was GREAT!
Here you can find a copy of my logs from that day with all the shouting ;) http://ugo.sinet.it/protectors/index.php/Main/UlberSlay (http://ugo.sinet.it/protectors/index.php/Main/UlberSlay) Even Laanx payed us a visit (of course it was Xordan but it shows the importance of that day) So i raise both hands for the ideea of having random Hydlaa invasions, and not only Ulbernauts, random monsters, it will add some spice to the life in Yliakum.
-
talad has said not too often.
-
I missed it last time and I don\'t know the proportion of enki characters in game at any one time but with the spawn point in Akkaio there would be a huge amount of traffic on the Oja road :)
-
why is there talking here now? this was like waaay back, before i was a GM. im not really sure how long ago it was, i mean it feels like not long... but it was a third of my PS time ago and when you think of it that way... its a long time.
also you people should not be trying to bring monsters into the plaza.
-
Hahaha..
I tried to take an ulber to the magic shop or hydlaa but drey stooped me and threatened to kick me :(
What he did it why am I different
-
it causes problems, with spawns and things.
also, of course im different. i am Drey! :P
-
Bow to Drey, for he is a GOD!
*Cue convenient bolt of lightning*
Muhahaha!
-
Now you \'ve done it!
*watches Drey\'s ego swell to gigantic proportions*
Save the women and children! It \'s gonna blow!
-
Draging monsters around to move them into another area is not quite what I had in mind Drey; more like one of you \"brethren\" causeing alot of choas by creating a large number of tempory spawns in an area to give the players a common enemy and help bring them together (not to mention the opprtunitys for roleplay).
Besides with a link in your sig how can you not expect people to find this?
*Expertly kicks Drey in his \"hardware\" to help deflate his rapidly inflateing ego*
-
Besides with a link in your sig how can you not expect people to find this?
no... they are just meant to look at it and then think
\"wow... drey... what a great guy\" :D
-
Close it then If you don\'t want people to find and post on it.
*Goes off to find another way to humiliate the false \"god\" Drey*
-
so if im a false \"god\"
does it mean that i am a true god...
:P
-
Yup: false \"god\" = false false god :D
\"wow... drey... what a great guy\" :D
HAHAHA :D
Now you \'ve done it!
*watches Drey\'s ego swell to gigantic proportions*
Save the women and children! It \'s gonna blow!
HAHAHAHAHAHA :D Omg.. I rofl *Wipes tears*
-
Sorry that was a typo on my part; I ment to say wanabe false god. ;)
-
so if im a wanabe false god...
i must already be a true god...
-
No I\'m saying your a puny little mortal who wants to be a false god!
-
*/me walks off mumbelling about his computer not allowing him to play Planeshift which is leaving him to missing all the cool things happening there*
hmm \'GOD?\' ahahahaa, jease this forum makes me laugh sometimes.
-
Ha, that was way, funny. Radent thinks to himself...\'hmmm must find way to top that in the future.\'
-
Wow, a new creature to kill me, I must go visit!

Ah, well. But you know the meaning of the word \"kill\", do you? This is the \"Kythag was killed by Ulbernaut and sent to the Death Realm\"-kill.
-
I haven\'t been yet. Been busy setting up the \"Increase Khythag\'s Vocabulary Contest\". I can\'t wait until I find an Ulbernaut, however(no spoilers!!).

Even a single ulbernaught would cause some severe mayhem. A handful of newbies would die before the rest realized what the shadow hovering over them was, before they realize the warm wind on the back of their necks is actually hot breath. They'd run, recollect in the forest, then make a mad dash as a group back to the rocks. They'd mine as much as they could before dieing, then repeat the process.
Of course, someone would probably ruin it by killing the ulbernaught *spy cough Aucicies*.

Also, I have a personal bitchslap for anyone trying to recreate me.

Somebody already did, she wrote a book about it called Frankenstein. :D
