Title: Linux problem :)
Post by: diserius on June 21, 2005, 09:52:05 pm
Im trying to run planeshift on SuSE 9.2.
After the installation has finished and everything is set up, when i try to use the update or setup functions, all I get is a small window, with some strange text positioning, and no cursor. I have the cursor for the rest of the screen, it just disappears over the window. Planeshift itself doesn\'t start. I run planeshift, and i get a windowed screen, showing the normal first image, this soon minimises by itself, and after a few seconds of loading it disappears (not updated?).
I had a nightmare of setting up my wireless LAN and my graphics card driver, but they both seem to be working pretty well now, so I think I can rule those out. Otherwise, my hardware consists of:
Athlon 3000+
1GB PC3200 Mem
Gigabyte Geforce 5900XT
with a AK79D-400VN Motherboard.

I dont think it\'s a hardware problem, but I may be wrong :) Taking a look through bug lists etc, I cant see anything of this nature.

I get the feeling im missing something glaringly obvious, hehe, im a complete linux n00b so I really wouldnt know.

Any help would be appreciated :)

*Raises from shadows with flames in her hair and mad expression on her face then glares at Diserious.*

If you haven\'t bothered to scroll down the forum index and see \"Linux Specific
Issues\" section not telling about sticky threads there, then I am out. :P
And I am going to delete all these threads since no one reads them...

*Sits down on the floor, cries hysterically and taps her fists agains the ground.*
