I\'ve finally managed to get ps running on my laptop - incidentally it has 512MB of ram, pentium 4 2.4Ghz and a 32MBgraphics card which does no opengl acceleration.
Consequently my framerate at normal settings is 0.5fps.
If I take the resolution down to 400*300 and colour depth down to 15bit I can get 2.2 fps, but that is still a bit too slow to use.
How could I reduce the lag some more - aiming for 15 fps here, at least 10 required.
I don\'t mind if I have to run in black and white if I can only make my speed target. Anyone got any ideas - can lower colour depths be set up?
Cheers

Awk! That does not sound good- what card is it? Why no support for opengl? That is very important- if you could get better drivers that would improve that you would get much better performance.
Assuming you cannot there are a few things you can do that are not in settup. One that I use is to run planeshift from a shortcut with the option \"-nolightmapping\" added to the commandline. This means you will lose most shadows, and some things will look very odd, but it gave me anouther 5 fps which was very welcome.

You might want to hack some settings in psclient.cfg and planeshift.cfg.
If you feel brave, you can even disable stuff in /data/setup/ for example r3dopengl.cfg has a few options
