Title: Various bugs I have noticed in 0.3.010
Post by: Aznakh on July 06, 2005, 11:28:27 am
Hello,

I did a fresh download of 0.3.010 and ran the updater through the terminal. Here are some bugs I have noticed.

I hope this helps out a bit:

1. Chat client doesn\'t scroll as new input comes in. I have to manually scroll down.

2. Keyboard configuration is not being saved. I have to reconfigure it everytime I launch the client.

3. The game simply crashes 8 times out of 10 when I pass into a differently mapped area. Not load a different area.
e.g.: Exiting a door, entering the temple, entering the forest, etc.....

4. Some flashing graphics when I enter the new zone which has been added to the city.

5. There are also some stability issues whenever I accidently move the mousepointer out of the client window. The game would simply not respond for a couple of seconds.

Also I don\'t know wether full screen support has been implemented yet but if I click on the green enlarge window button the game would crash.

Again, these are some bugs I have noticed as a simple user of the client and I hope that these observations help in searching in the right direction for further development.

My configuration is a Powerbook G4 15\" Superdrive unmodified (1.5 GHz G4, 512 MB RAM, ATI Radeon mobility with 64 MB VRAM)

Scrolling seems picky - not sure why.

Crash on area transition is most likely due to background music - this is a fairly well-known issue.  Turn it off and you should be fine.  The flickering in the new area is also common to all platforms (I think)

Interesting that keyboard config is not saved, are other things like you username or window layout saved?  Perhaps search this forum because I may have seem something like that before.

Full screen support may or may not work and has to be enabled by editing a config file at the moment.  The green button problem might have something to do with CrystalSpace not interpreting the action correctly.

Thanks,
Daniel
