Title: Dem's Scribbles
Post by: Keyaz on July 06, 2005, 08:31:09 pm
yes.. scribbles ^^ that is if i ever do any, i\'ve been on an artistic drought, i think i had an arguement with my pencils and they refuse to work right or something, anyway, had a little flare, sketched on A4, scanned, cleaned up in photoshop, and re sketched over in Alias sketchbook, if i feel funky i may colour it, or get someone else to do it.

ZOMG! Ylian Female!

Actually, its not bad. You got the right proportions and shape. The lips seem...unnatural? just a little to much to our left. Nice work ;D

I\'m so ashamed

what? you really think I would post pornographic art on a pg13 forum?

...

dont answer that.

the artwork you oh so desired to see stays with me only, purely because its in my head and i cant draw it, of course.

Yep, they have rubies in their eyes.
It\'s what we call eye-piercing.

PS: Don\'t worry, this is my last comment in this post.

PSII: Please Demarthl don\'t spam draw us. :D

and i tried colouring it :), it\'s the best attempt of colouring i\'ve ever done i think, although it still sucks compared to other artists ^^

Are you going to color the naked one?

Post by: Ashamn on July 08, 2005, 12:33:21 am
Nice *** (oops censored)

Anyway, not bad at all.. The sword reminds me of FFXI\'s swords with 2000 meters.. But it\'s not bad. It\'s very nice by the way.

And plz, draw the \"anime\" version one, LB (and some other perverts *Ashamn looks at somewhere else*) would apreciate that xD

Please please don\'t take this the wrong way...

You and I have somethng in common when it comes to drawing. It seems you have a real love of doing it, and have alot of inner creativity and imagination, but like me and many others lack that \'natural talent\' that makes it come easy.

For people like us we have to work very hard to develop \'skill\' to compensate for talent. This is not to say you have no talent, as that is not the case. if you love doing it and keep trying to get better, that is a talent in itself. :)

When I reached the point you are at now with pencil drawing  I stayed stuck there for years and never really got any better. Then I met someone who beat me about the head and neck and told me all I needed was some basics. I was trying to run before I could walk so to speak.

So I got a couple books on basic forms and shapes and blocking and stuff, then concentrated on a single facet of whatever I was trying to do at the time. In my case I started just drawing eyes.  The short version of all this long-winded diatribe is umm.. behold the power of the stick figure :) The stick figure is all powerful, all good artists start with it and build whatever pose or scene or whatever from it. From there is shapes, then detail, then shading.

The other thing concerns digital graphics, where the Pen Tool is all powerful :) I can\'t stress enough how much help it has been to me to learn to use it well. It can take a mediocre sketch and turn it into something really nice.

If you want I can give you links to tons of tutorials on all these things. I\'m hope I don\'t sound all high and mighty \'i\'m so good you must learn from me\' because I\'m not, just trying to offer some helpful CC that has helped me too.

As far as your 3d work goes, I love it, looks great! Those hammers are amazing.

Nice 3D work. What are those weapons with the curved blade and the handle in the middle called? (images 14 and 15) They have a kind of \'feathered\' edge on them. I\'ve never seen anything like that and wouldn\'t know how you use one, but it looks pretty cool.

Those happen to be Dem\'s cutters :) They are held by the shaft in the middle, with the blades going up along the forearm. Something like this (http://karyuu.com/pages/PlaneShift/demarthl.htm) .

fun!

I done a bit of tinkering today, i got -that- bored ;)

I modelled Karyuu\'s spear (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v74/karyuu/fanart-project/karyuu.gif) last

and i got carried away with detail on it, i left it incomplete at the bottom at a nice 668 poly\'s

here (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v481/Demarthl/maxmodels/Karysspear.jpg)

and so i thought i should make one a little less poly killing, cutting it down to a nice 186 polygons, i like the bottom end i slappedo n for this, then again, i like anything spikey ^^

here (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v481/Demarthl/maxmodels/karysspear2.jpg)

that\'s all for now >.>;

Anyone ever tell you those \"cutters\" look like a stylized katar? I\'ve heard they where used by the maharajas when hunting large cats. Ironic don\'t you think?

As a general idea it looks alright.  Do stuff with it though.  Add some swiggity swa here and there...kinda like the staves and wands that these guys (http://www.guildwars.com/gallery/gwscreenshots/gw082-lrg.html) have (that\'s a GW screenie).  Also, your mesh doesn\'t look airtight.  I think I see a gap between one of the prong thingies and the pole.

:emerald:
Title:
Post by: Keyaz on September 18, 2005, 03:23:14 am
shiggity shiggity shwa

it has no texture at the moment, thats just the default stuffs.

not a gap, the attach ments prong out at the end, i think i did it for a bit of fancy and a bit of catch the enemies weapon in it and stuff, it\'s all completely attached in there though ;)

I might do a tex for it with some funk on it, if i get good a texturing >.>
