Radiant Fate is now 8 days old, and with 165 members, many would say that we are a noobie guild. I say nay, Noob Guild, Tchh, we are a guild with a belief. That anyone, no matter how experianced or intellectual, has something to teach us. Call us a Zergguild or whatever you want, our guild has a job. To Collect and keep information, Knowledge. And to store it for the masses.
Others may say that we got to where we are only by mass recruiting. And they would be correct, the word is out. Within the first 3 days that our guild existed i mass recruited over 70 people. Yes, I did. It was spamming, and it was WRONG. Though, i soon rectofied the problem when a disgruntled player told me what i was doing wrong. Our guild has grown since then. To be the second largest guild.
Yes, spamming may have gotten us to where we are, but we have renounced spamming, let it no longer plague planeshift.
We are now collecting info, we have maps, and monster info, relative strengths, etc. We are keeping knowledge, which will soon be available to the masses. So, Out with the old, and in with the new. Let our guild start off on a new step, one to glory, one mistake-free, on our climb to do Planeshift Justice, and to serve those that I lead.

Knowledge of what, exactly? Everything in Yliakum? ;) So you\'re every other guild combined? Personally I would recommend something more specialized, since \"Knowledge\" is just too vague to do you any real good. Granted, you can have various ranks that specialize in different knowledge, but then your guild is just a walking library. What are your goals, besides collecting information? What do you plan to do with that information? There doesn\'t seem to be any real organization right now, at least not from your post.
No one is going to be impressed by the number of people in your guild, that has to be said no matter the point you were trying to make. What they are going to be impressed by is a clear statement of your guild purpose (which requires a clearer purpose to begin with), some sort of RP history, a list of innovative ranks and descriptions, and a functional and well-designed website (to which the link doesn\'t appear to work).
I think you still have lots of work to do ;)

This is that part where I say \"someone will flame you but it will not be me\"... But every move you have made so far.... errr I c..a..n..t f..i..g..h..t it. First, please post more info. You need ranks, a history, and maybe some actual goals (Which I assume you will say \"We are here to gather info.\"
Hmm.. so many other things to say.... Look, you should have thought your first post out alot better. Read posts from other guilds.. it should give you a good idea of how to put everything together. And why do you want so many people. Sure you may always have someone online... but how effective will your guild be? There is no way to organize so many people. And, if you care, you will always be considered noobs. One last thing, if it is possible, try to do a little role play... if you want to do Planeshift Justice... Role playing is the answer because from what I have witnessed it is the essence of what Planeshift is.

Ok, so you admitted that you\'re a noob guild. That\'s one step.
Ok your goal... collecting knowledge... you mean in the same sense that the \"Knowledge Seekers\" guild does? You can\'t hand out info like that. It\'s wrong. Don\'t.

Well, that\'s good. You realized that it\'s wrong. Now, did anyone mention that next to mass recruiting, the most annoying thing in PS guild-wise is to have a guild that has been mass recruited. Although it\'s not the action itself, the consequences are equally dire. Basically, you have a guild full of... nobody. How many of your players have ever been on the forums? How many are actually active? How many have actually logged on more than once? I don\'t doubt that you have a certain number of good, dedicated players. However, I\'m equally sure that you have, say... a hundred players who will never come in-game again. You need to purge. You also need to set some restrictions for joining.

Guild Master for Radiant Fate
Ok... lacking ranks, substantial goals, history... most of the things that make up a real guild. I\'m not even going to check the website. If you even bothered to post about your guild on these forums, you should have posted the above info as well. It\'s standard. Look at any other guild thread and you\'ll see that info, or see it put in fairly quickly, or see a dead guild.
Ok... positive side... Nice guild name. Unique, acceptable. Good job overall. Now if you could only think of a purpose behind that name, so as to not make it lose all its charm by being utterly random. Also on the good side... umm... you\'re enthusiastic? Yeah... that\'s a positive... I guess. Just remember, enthusiasm without intelligence isn\'t nothing, so start putting some brain-power into this and it could turn out good.
P.S. If you think this is a flame, you\'ll be shocked to hear that I can\'t believe how positive it sounded.
*edit* Basically to sum this up... This guild has 160 members and was created by someone who has never posted on the forums before, and has a name that is... well... non-RP to say the least.

I\'m not going to discuss if it\'s a good RP guild or not.
What i\'ll tell is the following:
I talked with a member of \"Radiant Fate\" and she was happy to be in that guild, because she felt that was helped.
When one is a new player, some assistance is needed.
If this guild offers that assistance, then I see nothing wrong, they can decide to join another guild whenever they want to.
If this guild, gives them the needed support to be able to move around (telling them the more than known at this point FAQ that a new player has) then I welcome that guild.
And if a new player feels more comfortable, more welcomed, being in that guild, then i welcome that guild again.
Because, before even thinking of roleplaying, a player has to feel comfortable in this world.

It\'s no surprise really, there has always been mass recruiting guilds.
It\'s just sad that someone would take pride in being one of them.
I wouldn\'t say it\'s a \"Radiant Fate\" to be dragged into a mass recruiting guild, just because you\'re still too ignorant to know better.

Nilrem: It\'s not wrong to create a guild that looks out to help new players. But it\'s ridiculous to buy them, and then brag about the fact that you have oh-so-many players.

They are a new guild, and as such they are bound to make mistakes. Obviously they are willing to learn from such mistakes. Its a daunting tast to start and keep a guild running successfully. Perhaps they should have waited to start a guild, but thats beside the point as they already did. I think that if they can put about 1/4th the effort into sustaining the guild as was put into recruiting then they\'ll do just fine.
We didn\'t really have any idea what we were doing when we started our guild too. Things just get figured out along the way :)

Thankyou everyone for your criticism, yes we must make a clearer image of ourselves, thankyou for pointing that out. Everyone keeps saying that i need to cleanse my ranks, it has already occured, and continues to occur, i remove members who have not signed up on the forums within 7 days of entering the guild. That is why we have very high usage of our forums. I also keep tabs of the last time the user was online. I think the way my ranks are kept clean should occur to me, and my guild.
Also, our guild may be growing fast, that IS a good thing, it allows us to sift through members and find the ones that are valuable to our cuase, which is each and every one as long as they participate.
Has anyone ever heard of Reno, Nevada, US. It is the fastest growing city in the united states. Some people have commented on the stability of our guild becuase it is growing too fast. Reno still thrives, and is growing faster than Las Vegas. Most people who move into Reno, move out within a year, therefore, all those who stay are good reno citizens. Therefore, high movement, High productivity. :)

On first sight Radiant Fate seems to be a mass recruiting guild. But members who don\'t show a certain amount of activity will not be allowed to stay in that guild for long.

I completely agree with Nilrem in that point.
Some said we are a newbie guild, and maybe they are right for now. But we help and support each other, and we learn from our mistakes. Everyone once started as a noob, that\'s clear. And it is no crime to be a noob, but to stay a noob forever surely is. ;)
The whole thing is about experience. It would be somehow odd to compare a guild which mainly consists of players who have been playing for some days to an \"old\" guild, where most members are playing for several weeks or months.
So let some time pass by, and you will see Radiant Fate prosper.

All this talk of prospering, but still no visible attempts to rectify the original problem - lack of true substance ;) Or perhaps something more immediate - a working website link. I think before a guild can be considered as serious, these issues absolutely must be addressed.

Yes, they need a lot of things to be a valid RP guild. But let\'s face it; most guilds are not RP at all. There are, of course, a few great RP guilds (they know who they are, I think), but most guilds in PS serve as means for powerlevelers to help each other to powerlevel. Honestly, I see nothing really wrong with this so long as they do not interfere with RP. By mass-recruiting, Radiant Fate was interferring with RP. But I\'ve not been invited in several days, so I believe you when you say that you have stopped. You will still get flamed on the forums for not having all of the things a valid RP guild would have, but I will not flame you as my response is simply to ignore you. I dislike big, pointless guilds, but so long as you continue to refrain from interfering with role-play, I will not bother you about it.

i disagree that \"most\" guilds are for powerlevelers trying to help each other max out. while i think there are a few, i think a fair amount of guilds are into rp and a few guilds fall somehwere in between.. not a guild for powerlevelers, but don\'t engage in rp a whole lot.
but thats just how i see it... doesn\'t mean anything

Perhaps you are right, Easton, and I am overly cynical. Maybe I judge those guilds in the middle a little too harhsly. I would just like to see more guilds that not only are based on, but encourage RP. Too many times I have seen members of large guilds speaking only OOC, and talking to me like I\'m crazy for speaking IC. And Xordan, this is one of the reasons I am looking forward to the wipe (even has a relative newbie who will be left with nothing). It certainly will be interesting to see who sticks around and which guilds survive.

All of them at once? Now don\'t brag. If they all started hitting at once you would be dead in one strike even with most being noobs they normally still hit you for one hitpoint ;)
Swarmtactics can be very effective I mean how many hit would you need to do to kill them? ;) hmmm how many members well atleast that many times and think they\'ll have you dead by then if all keep hitting you. Might be a bit confuusing have almost 200 swarming you. BAD LAG I expect aswell so no running for you either ;)

God you radiant fate people are annoying pests. Getting your members to annoy the GM\'s with petitions about Kenti\'s behavior... We challenge you because you are our enemies. If you would honorably accept a war and end it, then you would have no bother of us at all. Yet you continue to insult and attack us, and yet you complain when we give it back to you. Kenti challenging people is not illegeal, or against the Rules, it is rightful retaliation for the annoyance which your members have been causing ours. This is a game. You can decline a challenge in 5 seconds, and that person cannot challenge you again for 5 mintues. You nned to get over it and act maturly, and perhaps try talking to the guild to sort something out, instead of going and having a cry to the nearest GM who will listen to your pitiful story. In all my time of being in DeT and AI I have never seen a guild or person so pitiful as to run straight to a GM when the nasty old \"evil\" guilds start interacting with them. If you want anyone in this realm to respect you then you have to start Playing your role and interacting with the other guilds, instead of crying about it when they start interacting with you. I am honestly beginning to wonder about why we\'re even bothering with a Guild as immature as yours.

Well Bael, it has it\'s reasons that both guilds have to agree on a war. This shall not mean that I am on their side. If they attack and insult you, it is your right to do so with them. It would be different if they wouldn\'t care about you or ignore you, if that would be the case I would be strictly against you. (still I wouldn\'t care about you and wouldn\'t insult you... not to much)

I agree with you on most parts, but I really really think that a guild is not made to be strong. There are guilds that are made to be strong, but I think that it is not neccessary to be that way. What about a peaceful-religous guild, or an guild of artisans? What about a guilds that settled down and became a farming community :P?
But I strongly have to side with you that that mass recruiting is the most pityful way to set up a guild. Mass Recruiting as in just inviting with neither even asking nor having a good talk/knowing the background of the member in spe.

I\'m not saying that I am, but his guild spawn point recruits newbs that just come out of character creation, I know that I\'m a newb, I might not have everything known about this game yet, but what I do understand is that Radiant Fate shouldn\'t exist anymore :)

Is this a kind of standard you are saying to every guild who does not accept a guildwar? I just want to remember you that there\'s nothing illegal in declining a guild war. If you can\'t stand this, then challenge another guild or go play another game but not PS. :rolleyes:

Yes and no. We did mass recruit, but this time is over. In our guild forums we had a discussion about this to finally end mass recruiting.
And, yes, we still may have some weak members, some noobs. But there\'s nothing wrong with that and this is surely no reason to start a guild war or to hate our guild. Everybody was a noob for some time, it\'s something as natural as breathing.
(BTW: Your posts don\'t sound quite mature or experienced either, so somebody could easily think you are a noob, too. :P )

But maybe it\'s a relief for you to hear that we are actually planning a wipe of some members, which will drop the number of our guild members below 100, maybe even below 70. So you won\'t have a reason to be jealous anymore.

Actually kenti has incredible armor and agility ratings..I find it impossible landing a hit, meaning your members dont have a chance either. The more you keep saying this, the more I get the impression you are really jealous of Radiant Fate, a fact that I would welcome. But maybe it\'s a relief for you to hear that we are actually planning a wipe of some members, which will drop the number of our guild members below 100, maybe even below 70. So you won\'t have a reason to be jealous anymore.

Actually..many reasons..I find you have no etiquette in-game. \"Gaminator\" (one of charims alts in RF to boost member count -.-) insulted me and a freind. Also, I had to get a GM to port a member of yours twice, and she still wont stop running in circles around me calling me \"Kallabhan\"or somethin...Talrah seems to have a problem with my name *rolls eyes* So theres reasons..Since these three are the only three who actually appear in-game after the first day, I consider them the guild. Having a grudge against every single one, I consider the guild (right now them -.-) an enemy...Get your members to show some manners, please..and tell them to sign up on your forums damnit :P

Oh, that\'s really nice. It would be even more polite of you to give some reasons why we are your enemies. You guys just said that you dislike our guild and that we are your enemies. I would probably expect a six year old child to act like this, but a whole \"guild\"? What kind of club is this you are in? First off, your blatant and ridiculous mass-recruiting, and then the fact that you were actually proud of it. The fact that alot of your members were just randomly walking up to people and inviting them, and that your guild still has a system that encourages this, whereby you get points for every member that you invite, regardless of what happens to them (i.e whether they\'re useful or not). Can you stop pretending that all 200 are active members? You should be embarassed to say that you have 200. Damn, whats wrong with you? I dont see the server full of RF members, meaning they are inactive. Those three are the only ACTIVE ones. Get it through your damn head buddy, you dont have 200 active members. And yes, if I have a problem with every active member of a guild, that guild is basically an enemy. Just because you made a post halfway through the thread doesnt mean its offical guild policy. You are not the head of the guild, and I have had information that up until 2? days ago (before the guild stopped recruiting because of \"spies\" ) people were still, in practice, being mass recruited in, with people standing at the spawn point inviting everyone not in a guild. Besides, the damage has already been done, so to speak. You would have to kick out everyone in the guild that you mass invited to correct the situation. Thankfully the devs will do that for you in a very short time with the wipe.

When members of a guild are insulting you, then We hold the guild responsible. Whether you like it or not, you are responsible for every one of your members actions, when they are interacting with other guilds. We have recieved insults from multiple members of your guild, and so we have reacted. We dont need to get a friggen majority of members or interview everyone to see what their opinions are, as it were it is almost impossible to reach all your members. If multiple members of a guild insult us, then we will react, and that is what has happened.

I would like to say that i learned much since starting this guild.
Maturity is one of the largest factors that this stems from.
Would anyone like to know the beginning of this problem?
Well, it began before my guild even started.
Kenti challenged me, and i accepted, seeing as he had no weapon, though i did not know his melee was very high.
Of course, it took one hit, that is the way of things.
I returned form the death realm, and went along my way.
Now, kenti continued to challenge me after that, and i declined every time. Of course, i did not want to lose more duel points. I believe it seems logical.
My guild was created, and YES, if you did not read the first post of this topic, I mass recruited. I was and am sorry. Now, our guild has not mass recruited since the first 3 days of our guild.
Kenti continued to challenge me, and i declined, then, when we hit third largest guild, it escalated. Many confrontations occured, not jsut between kenti and I, but between others, many, i was eventually able to persuade that we no longer practiced mass recruitment.
Of course, these things take time, and become very stressful.
My problem does not lie alone with kenti, but with all other\'s who believe that our guild is an unorganized mess of mass recruiters.
We do not hope for confrontation as others do. Though we have found that confrontation is the only means to solve a problem.
I hold no grudge towards anyone, and i feel that this has been a large misunderstanding.
Of course, i will not submit to a guild war and have my members complaining that they cant get anywherem becuase they keep getting killed.
Yes, i admit that my members are weak in game, but we have spirit. Throguh all of the barriers, our guild still stands tall, and will continue, even after the wipe. After the wipe, we will have 50 or more members, not too bad for the 3rd week.
If you believe that we even thought for a second that inviting newbs would make us stronger, than you got another thing coming. I have never told my members to go newb inviting, inviting yes.
Our guild has a theory, \"All people, no matter how strong, popualr, experianced, etc. has something to teach us\"
So, as long as they participate, they shall not be wiped. I am sorry that many of you feel that we should not be on the top 5 list. I am sorry that we even made it there, we have recieved a lot of publicity, and not all good either.
As a fledling guild, we are liable to mistakes, but a truly good guild will always bounce back.

Oh dear, well, you havnt seen them on, so that settles it. How many hours a day are you on? 4 or 5? At most, that means you could only be on 20% of the time, at a maximum. So I am of the opinion that It is very likely that you could not see these players online. Also, If they are in a different timezone then it\'s very likely, if you both log on at the same times every day. And, anyway, we didnt name any names, did we? I did a quick search then and the two mains offenders havnt been mentioned by name in the discussion, so would you mind explaining how you know they havnt been on? Thought not.

As the Leader of Radiant Fate- Knowledge keepers, I would like to say that i feel partially guilty of specific accusations. Of course, they are in response to reasonable supspicion of a very quickly growing guild.
We will try our best to let you know that we have not spun facts or bent the truth.
Like i said earlier, it is not all AI\'s fualt. Nor is it all my fualt. My fight is not with AI, they are only part of it, I wish to expose my guild as it really is, and quite frankly, i believe i have done an excellent job defending my role with the help of other\'s. My fight is with all who believe that my guild is what it is not.
I know at times i have done wrongs, but i wish to correct them. My guild has grown considerably from what it was, and it continues to be better. I am sorry for those of you that feel that we mass recruit, etc.
But WE WILL NOT back down, we will fight, until the bloody end.

I can\'t swear on it nor am I sure if I am right, but some voice inside my head keeps telling me that it either should be \"interfeci\" (as in I have killed if I am right) or \"interficio\" (as in I kill) but I could be wrong, just curious.

Im sorry, its just I live in Australia, so being drunk is pretty much the natural assumed state. The whole \'sober\' thing, though I havnt experimented with it much, is pretty over rated I think.

Honestly, you\'re most probablly correct. I didnt start the guild and as such I had no input in the selection of name (read: dont blame me! blame him! its all his fault!!!!11), and so I havnt given it must thought. Now that I look at it, interficio seems alot more correct... I cant find many references for interfecio at all, in fact I think that someone has just mixed up the e and i, meaning it should be interficio. But thats just from google, and using google to translate latin is like performing brain surgery with a sledgehammer.
