Title: Updater

Every time I run the updater it downloads everything again; all art and data; 170.8 MB worth.

Can it really be necessary to download all that for every single update?

I have an Apple Macintosh Dual 1 GHz PowerPC G4, 2MB L3 cache per processor.

i have same problem.
Mac osX 10.3.9 G3 blue x white. 1GHzPowerPC G4 1 MB L3 cache. 1GiB memery.Radeon9200/128.  Allsoft wear up to date.

Are you sure the Updater is grabbing the exact same files each time?

I wish I could help, but I have no experience with Macs, so I don\'t know what to suggest. :(

Dark_Wolf_of_Courage: yes, but that is not relevant.

I think that dfryer said at some point that pssetup and the updater were giving him problems, perhaps those are making themselves known now? Chances are that there won\'t be another update until the big \"Update\" which will happen \"Soon\", so you don\'t need to run the updater until you see a notice on the main site.

Edit: Hmm, since this appears Mac OS specific, it should be moved to the Mac OS X help forum.

i didnt have this problem, and i have a mac. I used the unofficial updater though, because my actual updater didnt work.

I had a similar problem (on the PC, though) with various files in arena.zip.  I had darkness outside the arena, and it kept re-downloading the junk over and over, yet not fixing it.  My solution was to delete the glitched file and then allow the updater to re-get it.  So, I guess I\'m recommending you delete the art folder, then let it re-download it... again... wow, this odd advice... it ~might~ work... but, honestly, I have no clue...

i have deleted the art folder and downloaded again,still it keeps downloading same files,even gone so far as to wipe the lot and download 3.010 again.

As for running Chaos\' updater, no disrespect to him intended, but I thought allowing us the priviledge to play this game was to find problems and bugs and report them. Apart from the above mentioned problem, the updater works fine. As I\'m on broadband this is not a problem but for anyone on dial-up it must be horrendous.
