What the...? Oh my goodness! Why didn\'t anyone tell me this before! All this time, and I\'ve wondered why it wouldn\'t work...

Anyways, ram is good, and a semi-decent video card is extremely helpful as well. But yeah, definitely ram. In the computer I\'m using(not mine) there\'s a gig of ram, and PS runs like a dream.

1 GB is enough to be able to turn on \"load all maps\", and avoid load times when changing maps, as long as you don\'t run other applications at the same time. You might get a bit of swapping though, but not so much that it slows down the game.

At least that\'s my experience, running PS on Linux. I ended up turning \"load all maps\" off again though, I prefer being able to have a browser, mail client, ICQ/MSN etc open without swapping.

GeForce4MX AGP 128 megs
1.3ghz processor
512 megs of ram
cable modem
1 40 gig harddrive for linux and windows storage
1 80 gig harddrive for Windows XP Professional

and players still say my computer is slow so more ram is better. My computer used to be the best of the block. Still faster than my aunts Compaq 3.?ghz processor.
