Has anyone succesfully compiled this game on another platform like Linux or *BSD. What I\'m paticularly interested is Mac OS X which is based on FreeBSD. That would be awesome. I hope this game goes all the way :]

I routinely compile under linux and under windows so there should be no problems there.
Crystal Space ( the engine that we use ) supports Mac OS X so the only main problem would be in porting over some of the network code in PlaneShift. But since we have no Mac OS X developers it is not an option for us yet.

Well I don\'t see how it would be a problem (the netwok code) I\'m no developer but Mac OS X supports most of the stuff that any regular *nix does I think anyway. Maybe someone just needs to compile the code on a mac (I\'m not volunteering only because I\'m on an iMac G3 for now and it would probably take days to do on my comp. even freeciv took like an hour to compile). I run XDarwin and XFree86 and I can run most X11 based programs with little trouble. Also the people who work with Fink do an awesome job of making it easy to get open source to come across on the Mac. Maybe someone could contact someone who works with Fink to get it going. Well thanx for taking the time to read my post. Even if PlaneShift doesn\'t make it to the Mac I want you guys to know from what I\'ve seen you guys are doing an awesome job, keep it up!

I REALLY hope Planeshift will make it to Mac soon, since thats the only reason I\'m here.
It better! Thats what it says on the website.
I absolutely positively refuse to use Virtual PC on my Mac any longer on MMORPGs. Its.. so.. slow!
