Come ye, Planeshifters; of old or of new. Hearken thy words, of old Molecular blue.
Yes listen to old times that have come on to pass; and listen yet closely why I type out this task.
It tells of a story, lovely in tale; of a young boy and how he came to love without fail.
He brought sometimes annoyance, and sometimes he brought glee; why that young boy named Kixie, that young boy is me.
But first, I tell how I came to these lands. In the hourglass of old times, have fallen these sands.
It all began in the embassy of Planeshift; where I downloaded the client not a moment too quick.
I downloaded the file with a gluttonous haste; I needed MMORPG goodness, a moment I could not waste.
After downloading for hours in my hands I beheld, the game they called Planeshift, in executable shell.
I unwrapped in a fury this hundred megabyte file; I installed with my face filled with a great smile.
At last I could finally play all day and all night, until my luminous monitor had taken my sight.
Finally I clicked on that familiar small icon; one I clicked all too often with all my might on.
Surely and steadily, with the pace of a worm, my life had taken a most dire of turn.
I had found a single vice I could base all my pleasure; one that I could visit most often and more often I treasured.
The lands full of people I could finally relate; full of villains, debauchery and often of hate.
But all jokes aside, I found the people quite swell; and some I wished I could have stabbed and have fell.
But the ones that I did love (and love much I did), filled my thoughts even when much work was amid.
All day I would wait, until exactly five thirty, when I could visit Planeshift and talk very dirty.
I would curse and complain, without much foresight. Developers shouting ?SOON!?; an all too familiar sight.
At oldbies at time I would chew with might; shouting insulting words, ensuing with fighting.
I loved to make the elite, squirm with disgust. You could even say that I enjoyed to make all that fuss.
The name that of Kixie, revered with a fear; the name sometimes cursed, and sometimes yet cheered.
That Kixie of the old; not the Kixie of present; the one that speaks now of all reminiscent.
But the first day in Planeshift, now that is a story. When I met Cadoras/Waylander/etc. and other in glory.
Myyst was there too, and even was Cad. Among others Golmir, Moogie, Tycho and Talad.
There are too others yet countless, I wish I could include; The old ones of Planeshift, all that I knew.
Yes these were the members when happiness ensued. When the name was not Crystal, but Molecular blue.
I had entered the portal, after clicking my icon, in a dark cramped room without even a light on.
My eyes glued to the screen pasted on with ominous wording, ?Loading? that took often till morning.
But when I finally apparated into the lands of Planeshift, I knew that great was this foreboding gift.
I mashed on my keyboard; wanting quickly to start moving. I couldn?t yet wait to dance on the roofing.
The tiles they shouted at me with great might, ?Dance on us foreign one, dance on us all night?.
But before on this task I could begin, the one named Waylander met me with a grin.
He brought a message of hope, one that none could ignore. ?Hey what?s up there cat-girl, it?s you I adore?.
I blushed with amusement, and my eyes had yet race. Indeed I had chosen the Fenki cat race.
Those words of course are but yet paraphrased; the actual ones would have many eyebrows high raised.
But at last I knew I had found my community, one I could share with much mysterious immunity.
No one knew my real name, anonymity I had. And quite frankly after minutes I was really quite glad.
The people were strange, but strange just like me. Often we shared view points of similarity.
They spoke of spinning, and glitching and other foreign affairs. Ones that until days later they did not care to share.
But until then I jumped onto those golden glitched tiles; on rooftops I danced from a distance of miles.
But yet when I took an often misstep, I fell on the ground with all constitution kept.
I realized just then the world wasn?t quite done, and many things were not finished, including the sun.
The rains would stop movement, and lagged storms ensued. I would curse to the monitor until I finally moved.
And of another great gift I have not even spoken; of crystals of all hues that were carried as tokens.
Hunters would carry them by the dozens, out of the dungeons of great depth. Carry them with reverence and many they kept.
Of Crimsons, of Sage Green, and even Azure blue; these were the crystals that appeared always new.
On the ground, in the corners, and even sometimes on ceilings, appeared small crystals that arose many feelings.
Feelings of joy, that a hunter was over swept; when a crystal he found and a crystal he kept.
But the story of the crystals is one often marred; they brought out a lust in the lands of afar.
Some had tried cheating, and others by hacking; and many more hunted until they had earned heavy stackings.
Their eyes surely bloodshot and their hearts full of might. Until they had finally earned weapons apparent in sight.
All would revere the ones who bore crystals. Great in the lands were those hunters without pistols.
They hunted with sharp eyes, and not a sharp blade. They stayed up far late until sleepiness bade.
But those hackers, the vile, the cheaters they plagued! They took from the rightful who were rightfully paid.
A might swept the people, they wanted to rid of this vermin. These rats who stole heavily from their own heavy purses.
They scapegoated the one whose name came to pass. The one named Psybur, who they wanted to tax.
?Take all of his crystals? Shouted many angrily and many more others wanted him left permanently.
Until a fateful day, left this great of guild Explorer when he hacked crystals, models and accounts, like a sorcerer.
But unfortunately for this most mysterious man, he was finally leaved by the devs and permanently banned.
Few knew of his nature, and some were quick to yell in much glee until finally he left, this man of mystery.
But this was but one instance of an evil begot. Many were more malicious, and evil in plot.
Some wish to destroy the very nature of land, of cabal they were named and they masterfully planned.
Some edged on the players with a menacing might, and yet others had plans to destroy all of light.
These chaotic souls were led by the likes of Xordan and Auron, these masters led slaves that were often but
morons.
But those were just an instance of the thousands of evils, and many times over were there much better people.
The people taught newbies, and helped out the poor. They included Nilaya, Elscha and more.
Moogie included and many now devs, once strongfully been leaders, and mightily they led.
They brought on a golden age, and often they wed. In this game they called Planeshift, many tears of joy shed.
I included, played for hours on end, until on the diamond charts I would slowly accend.
Kixie was read, player number three. ?Three most crystals? I had often read with much glee.
But that standing is yet here nor there, and has little to do with this time of fanfare.
For the curtain was closing, and closing was fast, and soon ? this land of rejoicing would pass.
All the newbs would cry hither, ?Where art thou CB?? And even the devs would have to agree
That no one had quite the knowledge of when, Crystal blue would grace the screens of their friends.
So the newbs started leaving, in ten fold no less, and the oldbies rejoiced in a fashion of best.
And like lemmings that ran off the side of a hill, not one or two but hundreds of players left on free will.
And Molecular blue was but quite for a while, until Talad fatefully had begun yet to smile.
His grace met the screens of all who updated; CB had come yet at last, to all who had waited.
And downloading ensued and the servers were trafficked; MB had then ended, leaving many in havoc.
But that is a tale, of an entire other sort. MB had then passed, in my opinion just a little too short.

Hear! Hear!
(It\'s slightly annoying to read, but then nothing is perfect :P)

I miss MB. :/ Everyone thought CB would be so great, but with a more functional game comes less functioning brains.
I\'m offended you left out the part about me stalking you until I got a diamond.

Hmm, yes with features come powerlevelers...Oh well it\'s life. (if only virtual)

great job Kixie.
As always you showed that you were able to do the best and the worse. :)
This time you did the best I ever heard to sum up what it was to discover and play PS in MB times.
@John_Thazer, I don\'t think it was meant to be easy to read.
Who cares about what PS was without mobs to loot? People looking for more than \"point and click\", who do like to share dreams, fantasies and this time memories...
May it help newcomers discovering and playing PS in CB times to understand the bitterness and weariness that players from old days are showing when randolmy challenged.

That would truly be a great blessing

WOW.
I love it. I can say this now looking back to that december day, That was the end of a great game. CB is good too but in MB it wasnt about who was strongest it was \"hey hows your day\" yeah thats correct WE TALKED. I know thats a weird concept to these new players who wont even say hi to someone. oh well done with my rant. Either way I loved the story and it will go into my MB archives.

Me too, Lordbug... Me too :(
But CB is alright, we just have to find a new way to communicate and make this version of PS as versatile and wonderfull as the previous version was. I\'m sure MB wasnt as grand as it was towards the end, when it was first released. We just have to find what CB\'s niche is :]

Enabling auto-decline by default for fresh installs would greatly help.
Anyway, this story inded is a good read. It does have some truth in it (though I don\'t completely agree).

Molecular Blue was so incredibly boring...I don\'t see how if you liked it you could possibly dislike Crystal Blue.
-
I am sure the creators would be so happy that you want all their work erased so you can go back to standing around in the temple whining about when CB will be released ;)

Why else would anyone want Molecular Blue back? So they could have less areas and less things to do? Yes that definately makes sense.
Sure no one directly said they disliked CB, but you can\'t deny that that is the vibe. The people are a part of the seperate releases. Quit being difficult.

well done. very good. i remember it kinda blows cuz i wasn\'t able to play up until now since MB. updater was broken.

If you\'re going to mention Psy, shouldn\'t you bring me up too?
-
What a great poem. Reminds me of the days of olde. I bet many people agree that this \"gives entertainment a boost.\"
-
:D I forgot I wrote this. Wow, I never noticed how long it was when I wrote it. Took me a good 3 minutes to actually read it. So why did we bring this back to life again? Couldn\'t we just let it die? :(
-
Well it is good it didn\'t die. :/ I like to hear of the stories back then and it is like elders telling stories of the olden days. I have enjoyed listening to the oldbie\'s explain how PS used to be, and I am both is awe and wishing I could have been around in that time. Kixie the poem was great and I am happy to have had a chance to read it. :D This community rocks and there is no other out there like it.... so be proud of it.

Indeed, and there is no reason to welcome back with open arms those who once tried to tear it apart. Nor bring this up, all over again.
