Title: Mouse Look, MouseRun and Camera forward/back cannot be controlled by m
Post by: Verrliit on August 05, 2005, 05:27:02 am
While I had nothing better to do, I completely wiped all traces of my PS install, and my Ati drivers, (including registry and stray files) and installed anew.  A miracle, I was finally able to load the game, on my XP sp2 box.

But.

Although I can change assignment of the mouse controls, away from a button and back again, proving that the button is detected, the client refuses to activate Mouse Look, MouseRun and Camera forward/back when the button/key combinations are pressed.

This is a big problem for me.  I use Mouse Look to steer while moving.

Anything I could edit to fix it?

Thank you in advance.

I have the same problem. Everything with the mouse except those 3 things work.

Update on my crash during world loading.

Happens in every map mode but the simplest.  I can only get in, if neither of the map buttons are enabled.

And getting the Settings program to change a button setting is very tough.  CPU maxed while it is running, and most of the time the buttons won\'t change their settings.

Oh, it is not only that....
I\'ve been trying to get to the arena (since i was unable to get in the sewers because the game hanged near the entrance) fome one hour! And i\'m still in one of the passage ways leadding there. As soon as i enter a sub-region (like those where the sound should change) the game almost freezes. My guess it is that it has something to do with the new \"keep maps loaded feature\" and i\'m getting my memory filled up with stuff while my processor dies. Pleeeease find a fix because the game isn\'t playable right now. I would rather wait a month before the server goes back online but get some decent controls at least.

Ps: Try jumping from the tower (if you can get there) because it is the best fun in the world! :D I didn\'t managed to get to the tower but somehow i managed to get on a tall ledge above the temple folowing the staires towards Boralis. I jumped 3 times and no fall damage.

Just installed the game, I have never played it before that is... I have WinXP SP2 and I experience the same problems, the mouse works fine except for those 3 functions.... What can be done to fix it???? I can use mouse3 to both ContextMenu and EntitySelect but no combinations works with the mentioned 3 funcions... I have experimented with the mouse_def.xml and nothing helps. I refuse to just walk around with the keyboard, I rather not play at all.

Just installed it on a complete different system, doesn\'t work on that computer either... so a bug I guess? But is there a way around it?

The problem with the mouse zoom is the biggest problem for me, as it leaves me unable to use third person follow, leaving me with only first person and dynamic follow, as third person follow is so far zoomed out for some reason that I can litterally not see the world of Yliakum unless I\'m in an enclosed space.  All I can see is a blue dome...  If anyone finds a way around this problem please post.

@ Jakob: use the \"reset\" button in the camera control dialog.

@ Rest: the mouse bug is known and reported on the BT, there is nothing you can do about it ATM. Keep maps loaded does work flawlessly for me, though.

Thank you so much.  What I would do without the forums...  Now all I have to do is figure out how to fall and go down into the sewers and mines...
