I think it would be great to have a /cuicide command added to the game. For example you get stuck, and /unstick doesnt work. I had that happen to me a couple of times. So if you type /cuicide, you die, and go to hell.
Also, a way for the planeshift team to get money is paypal. For example, you can buy ingame money with a credit card. And with that money they can buy new things, like servers and such.

I agree about the suicide command, good alternative to /spawn (which Xordan vehemently believes is bad).
As for the paypal suggestion, no. Atomic Blue does not want to make money. If we did, selling ingame items/tria would be the LAST thing we\'d consider, for completely obvious reasons.

Death Realm, ..., it\'s Death Realm not Hell.

Using \"/unstick\" multiple times already has this effect.

/death is I remember well...

Perhaps this is the case, Moogie, but I do hope they will accept donations for development. Otherwise what is the purpose of setting up Atomic Blue as a Not-For-Profit? People have joked about about donating servers, etc. but honestly, is it fair for us to expect the devs to shoulder all of the burden for PS development _including_ infrastructure costs?
I understand the Open-Source model assumes the \"community\" shoulders the burden of development, but PS is not under a pure Open-Source license. In any case I\'ve seen some remarkable examples recently of how powerful Open-Source development can be (e.g. Mandriva) applying a structured Not-For-Profit approach.
Also, as an arts administrator, I have a very strong belief that artists should be compensated for their work. The dual-license that Planeshift is under supports this possibility. Or at least supports the possibility that Artists\'/developers\' equipment could be upgraded/replaced when necessary. Replaced without them having to dig into their own pockets for it. At least in this small way you could retain the wonderful, talented people you have working on this project for a longer time, if we reduced some of their burden so that it would not become overwhelming and tedious for them.
There--now look what I\'ve done, I\'ve turned this whole thread around into a big capitalist/NFP/Open-Source philosophy-fest. Sorry! :(
Peace,

This has been discussed before, you\'re not raising any new issues here. We have no costs. Money doesn\'t come into it. Servers are donated. Everything we use is free. If that ever changes, perhaps we might consider donations.
For now you can donate to our server sponsors Fragnetics (http://www.fragnetics.com/), or to the engine team, Crystal Space (http://www.crystalspace3d.org).

Good point Moogie. But I still ditto with Danok. Whats wrong with accepting a few donations? The game still will be free. But if they must have their way, let them be.

Not that I\'m implying that it would happen to PS... but this question has been the first step to most corruption throughout history...
