Post by: Guardian of the Kuaatu's on August 08, 2005, 02:54:01 pm
Hey , I\'m new to the forums and will hopefully be playing Planeshift within the next few days (my Mac iBook G4 should be here any day now, very exciting:P1GB RAM etc.:D)

one question: How many players are there in planeshift approx?(sorry if this says somewhere else)

I shall be known as Guardian on Planeshift unless the name is taken and I can\'t have it

Thanks

Guardian

I\'d bow but you  can\'t see me bowing;)

EDIT: is the sound on planeshift for Mac sorted yet?

Or will I have to wait and see when I get my Mac?

Greetings Guardian. Welcome to Yliakum.

I too use a mac, pease visit the mac forum for the most news. Dfryer, the mac guru, is working on the client 3.011 at the moment, I hope it is up soon, but it might take another week, especially for the client to be in the repository to update. Please be patient.

Sound on the mac has always been a bit touchy. In the last client, sounds worked except for a bug when the background music was playing and you moved into a different sector. This caused the game to crash. I just left background music off, but if you can remember to switch it off before you cross a sector, you\'ll be fine. There were also some lighting issues on the mac client, the dungeon and death realm were mostly completely black (made it much more challenging)

Also, I\'d like to note that you should be prepared for a GM to not approve of your name and ask you to change it. Often a common noun is not acceptable.

127 people is the most I\'ve ever seen on.

Enjoy your stay,

Xirius
