Title: Loot Time
Post by: forgoodorforevil on August 08, 2005, 04:07:39 pm
I think that the loot time is too short.  For instance I was attacked by two creatures and by the time i killed the second the first disappeared.  It would be nice if a corpse told you how much time left the corpse would be until it disappeared.  Also, after a certain amount of time other people should be able to loot the corpse.

speaking corpses, that would be upright scary.

Hmm would end up in nice necromantic spells...

Maybe, instead of having corpses that had mysterious numbers out of nowhere, just make them stay dead for an extended 15-30 seconds or so. That would give more time to be looted. As for the looting after a certain amount of time (by another player).. that sounds good too.

If too many corpses are scary you can leave just the stuff that can be looted.

And yes, the time the corpse stays is very short. I see no reason why the items could not stay for hours.
Rat eyes do not turn bad that quick, do they? And definitely not hides.

On the other hand, one may think the other rats ate the corpse. There are so many :)

But if other corpses stay only for such a short time it is hard to explain.

At the same time, that would mess up spawn times, like it would take 5 minutes for the rat, or tefusang, or ulbernaut, or dead player to go away, very annoying, and will cause a few obvious bugs

It would be better that when creatures die, the loot stays on the ground in their place.

Yeah. I don\'tlike it how they just dissapear, its unrealistic. Instead, they should just sink into the geometry or something after a bit. And when they do, they leave the loot on the ground. When the loot\'s on the ground anybody can pick it up. :D

That actually sounds reasonable.. let the corpse deteriorate and eventually let the items be \'lootable\' to any1.
