i seem to recall that when using a glyph there is a chance of it breaking.
now, am i misremebering something? or is actually writen somewhere. i mean 1k is a lot for something that may break if you use it.

When you try to cast the spell, that cast may fail, but the Glyph will never disapear, unless you sell or trade it. And if you sell it, the spell will still be visible in the spellbook (but can\'t be cast)
-
hmm, never seen anything about the glyph breaking, just backfiring
-
Indeed a spell can backfire and damage the caster instead of doing what it is supposed to do. The more powerful the spell the more danger there is with using it.
Glyphs themselves won\'t break as far as I know.

There is a strong magic link between the wizard and his glyphs. That requires a process of purification when the wizard gains a new glyph that may take some time (hours or one day). After that purification process the link is established and if the wizard dies the glyphs will be destroyed with him (or taken to the Death Realm with him).
The text should be adepted after this conclusion: The Glyph will never break!

/me shrugs
i think that\'s what i had misremembered/remembered. given the use that glyphs have been put through since cb, something would have floated up around here about it happening.
so i guess. it doesn\'t happen... or at the least not yet.
