Title: klyros of fury
Post by: mar157 on August 12, 2005, 10:45:13 pm
does anyone know the website for the klyros of fury guild?

I would be surprised if they did have a website or anything else that might make them a proper guild. Judging by their guild name and member behaviour, they are merely powerlevelling / griefing.

haven\'t met a nice member of their guild, infact ive had to warn several of them on their behaviour, they are obviously only an ingame guild, and cannot comprehend the depths of detail of which planeshift itself is built from.

What\'s wrong with bein an in-game guild? Truthfully, I\'d say there\'s something wrong with taking the guild (part of the game) outside of the game and into the rest of your life. Obsessive, much? It\'s not healthy. A website is fine, but to turn a guild into a Planeshift-worshipping cult is just plain self-destructive. I\'m not sure if this was a whole lot nicer than saying \"get a life,\" so just let me say that in no way did I mean this to be insulting, and I\'m sorry if it was.

There was no one saying there was something wrong with an in game guild. Just that most people here in PS focus more on RPing and having details and such instead of PLing/Greaving/etc.

Demarthl did indeed say, or at least imply with tone, that there is something wrong with \"only an ingame guild.\" Personally, as I see it, \"the depths of detail from which planeshift itself is built\" are perfectly sufficient without having to look outside the game for things relating to it. Outside the game is outside the game, and forgetting that is, as I said, probably not healthy in most cases. I do enough roleplaying and such (when I can), and get involved enough in the game when I\'m playing it, that I want the rest of my time to be my own.

It os obviously ridiculous to imply obsession to the mere opinion that a guild needs to have a website where it
1) has a in detailed description of it\'s purpose, history, goals, etc.
2) offers players from different timezones a place to meet the ones that they will never be able to meet ingame.
3) allows people to gain a quick impression of the guild if they, like the OP, are possibly interested in it

Also, the way it was presented is just plain silly ( Planeshift-worshipping cult? ).

I share the opinion that a guild must not be ingame-only, due to the restrictions that PS has ATM. An out of game part is required to make up for that until the guild system is more complete. This is, BTW, very obvious IMO, and also that \"the depths of detail from which planeshift itself is built\"  are most definitely not sufficient yet due to that.

However, quite to my surprise, I have seen one of that guild actually RP yesterday, so this might even become good. Still, the name is, at best, poorly chosen.

I guess we\'ll have to agree to disagree, then. I guess I got a little personal, there, though, so I\'m sorry. No hard feelings?

Well there was one Klyros of Fury member that talked to me... he was nice... but i think that was only because my character was a Klyros... i havent really seen them do anything \"wild\" or \"un-good-behavioral\" but then again i only see them running the other way that i am which is weird because it is like that no matter where i am going... i will just see one member run past me... never seen one running the same way as me... that is horribly off topic sorry but its strange...

most KoF are really bad... there are a few that are good though (constrabus, chral, ehullel, gatien) but most of there really bad members are gone... i won\'t name the bad players but the KoF are starting to get there act together

Please, if you have a website (and I doubt you have), then please give a proper URL. If your guild does not have a website, then say it straight out, and try to set up a website or find someone to do this for you. There\'s no need for a big huge site like some guilds have, but at least a site where the beliefs and goals of your guild are listed would be nice. ;)

And I just got into the guide but the Guide is extemely good and I haven\'t met one bad member, and on the rest of the KoF I say sorry because they\'re stupidity gave us a bad reputation. Trust me it\'s a really good kind and they\'re genourus.  Also the site above it just a site for those who want to look at it, it\'s not the guide site where we discuss things and stuff.

Well obviously still under construction and don\'t see the forum yet but definately a nice beginning. To bad the music file is only the first page.

Ahh, finally the Klyros of Fury has a website and a valid link, although several months have passed since the first one asked about the guild\'s website. ;) (I guess I\'m not the only one who wonders what took so long....)

However, nice site so far. Maybe you should add the link to your guild\'s promotional thread in the guilds forum. That is, if the Klyros has a promotional thread, which I guess you do have.

Ya...it took so long because no one\'s ever noticed it until me and another guide member. :D

I just Joined the KOF and i have to say i didn't notice any "bad members" at all. They helped me out alot when i just started and i havn't seen any "behavioural problems" either... i don't know if it was just older members who don't come one PS anymore but i really havn't seen much of a problem with it at all. I really odn't get because as far as i see none of the things sai here check out but if its just the status of the guild before then whatever but now the guild isn't bad at all i'm just not getting where all this bad rep is coming from.  ::|

Ah, this is an old thread now.

The link is no longer valid either. Because we have a new site which i'll put on later(because i'm not on my computer and I don't have the link).

But the KOF has definatly improved greatly and when I'm back home i'll put the link on.

He is generalising. Runescape is known for it's mixed community Among them, noobs, or immature children.

Now I ask, is this on topic or off topic?

It is a funny thread though...someone actually put their message in someone's quote, and their double post went unnoticed.

If someone made a double-post, report it instead of commenting on it and making yet another completely off-topic message.

Neither do I, I don't see it either...  ???
All accusations in this thread are false..
We've had a guild site, and guild forums from the start.
People who assumed that we didn't, should have asked me, the guild master, first... Instead of taking info from people who arent even in the guild
and jumping to conclusions.. That just seems unfair to me.
If asked,  I would have happily given the links. :D

Also.. Racest?! Where did that come from  ;D
We are in no way a racest guild. ><

I've known Constrabus for since I've played Planeshift, and I have known his guild and known no one but friendly people who helped me a lot... I may be a tad biased as his friend, but if I were secretly disliking his guild I'd not post a single thing here. His guild is nice, and it allows the strong brotherhood Klyros feel [read the description in the Races of the player guide] for each other to be played out in an RP way. I was in the guild as an alt at one point, and that was a long time ago, and I saw no one but nice members, none were bad... If any were, I know Constrabus would kick them out after a thorough investigation to make sure of what was up...
