Title: Cannot install
Post by: fisho96 on August 15, 2005, 04:07:15 am
I cannot install the game. Every time I try to run the installer, a NSIS error pops up while set up is starting.

I realize that things like this have been posted before. I\'ve read them, but everyone only says to redownload the file. I\'ve done this several times from each mirror and Bittorrent, and there hasn\'t been any change.

Also, the site says that the Windows file should be about 245 MB, but all of the files I\'ve been downloading are 234 MB. Could this have anything to do with it?

Thanks for your help.

I\'m not sure what NSIS is, but the error message says that the installer is corrupted or incomplete due to a damaged disk, a failed download, or a virus.

It says that I can skip the check by using the /NCRC command line switch (whatever that means), but does not recommend it.

Hmm.. it seems your computer isint downloading the complete software and is missing parts of it.. hence why u have 234 mb and its rly a total of 245. Do you use any type of download accelerators or other 3rd party programs??

Nope, all I\'m using is Internet Explorer. Also, when I use Bittorrent, it tells me the file I\'m downloading is 234.5 MB instead of 245 MB, so it seems like I am downloading the full file that is availible online. Is the download corrupted?

Edit: No one has any idea how to fix this, or any idea at all about this problem?

the file size seems to be the right one; the 3.011 release is 234MB in size, more precisely 245.856.434 Bytes

have you checked the md5 checksum as suggested here (http://www.planeshift.it/download.html) ?

Oddly enough, it worked when I downloaded it about an hour ago. This was the 9th or 10th time I tried it, but it seems it finally got through when I used a download accelerator.
