The updater has proved itself quite inefective when attempting big version jumps. I mean, if you were, let\'s say at version .6 now that we\'re at .11 the updater doesn\'t act perfectly, perhaps you should redownload the latest client version avaiable through the official website http://www.planeshift.it/download.html if you find no mirrors are working try http://planeshift.xpam.de/ that should do the trick.

yeah i do agree though the download times are insane.... a couple minutes ago i was goign 30 kb/s (still fairly slow) but now im back at the dreaded 0 kb/s... this is for the first downlaod so ill be here for a while... 6 hours to be precise... better than ealier which was 3 days

and thx for ur link it seens to be a lot faster....im back at my average 125 kb/s... well actually it even got me up to 135 kb/s... hopefully it wont cut me out at 20% as it usualy does though

Well the wait may be long, but you can always get a head start on PlaneShift by reading the Player\'s Guide, read the forum (from which you can get a good picture of planeshift), or visit the PS irc chans and meet some PSers.

Good luck on downloading :)

The updater isn\'t supporting persistent connections (Keep-Alive), this is fatal when downloading many small files. That should be the main reason why it is so slow.

PS: That\'s not the only problem. Right now it is downloading a few hundred files for akkaio.zip. The 15 MB ZIP file is rebuilt for every single file updated. Now that is a little suboptimal. My computer isn\'t too slow, but...

Yeah, I\' updating... it\'s been an hour and a half, and it still says it\'s at 0% completion despite countless files being downloaded......
