Title: Problem when trying to start game
Post by: MentalBakura on August 23, 2005, 06:25:13 pm
I just got this problem today, after running the updater. I\'ve been fine before this, only today did this happen.

It\'s a little technical for me, and I didn\'t find that debug thing it mentioned... any ideas???

Well... I updated, and yup... it does that now :P

Someone screwed the update repository up...

Um... if anyone reads this... don\'t update till this gets fixed.

This is closely related to my issue, as I noted the same error in the process of debugging my problem. Apparently not only is the update repository messed up, but so is the PlaneShift CB 0.3.011 install file as just a plain install without running the updater produces the very same error.

I have the same problem too, and when I wanted to update the game to fix it, I\'ve been waiting for nearly a hour, and still nothing to update. BUT have you noticed you do can close the updater by clicking Exit, wich couldn\'t before? Maybe this has something to deal with it (I don\'t know, I\'m not a Dev ;))

I think updating was the problem...They may of made a mistake on the updater accidently...if your reading this DONT update until we get clearence from the devs

Yes but shouldnt this be their primary?  I mean we cant play no matter what until they fix this.  And not updating wouldnt help because you can\'t play unless you dont have the most recent version.

Not true.  You can play just fine without getting this update, so long as you have the ones before it.

EDIT:
If you let the thing sit for about 50 minutes, it\'ll get done with it\'s stupid VFS errors and do something...  Still yet to see it all\'s well.

THe problem is we cant play cause some knob said it was fixed and we went ahead and updated and....guess what its not fixed...I couldnt play with or without the update because i kept getting an access_violation and the program kept crashing...I was hoping the update would fix that but look at were i am now...not playing the game and still watching the forums for any help available

So many bugs, errors and glitches. Since I started PS (half a year ago), there\'ve only came more of them. For every fixed bug, I got two ones back in return. It must be realy hard to be a Dev :(

You can successfully run the updater; it just takes a long time.  It will appear to be doing nothing at all.  Let it sit there for about 1 hour and it will eventually complete successfully.
