Hello everyone,
True to the name of the forum section, I have a terribly \'newbie-ish\' question. I\'ve gotten my character successfully into the game, figured out how to wander around and everything, movement basics etc.
I realized, though, that I\'d have to find and fight some monsters to get money, and to fight monsters I\'d need...well..weapons and armour. I don\'t *think* my character has any currently--I checked the inventory and didn\'t see anything. But as I was wandering around, clicking on the cyan-titled people and using the command /buy, everyone I clicked on turned out not to be a merchant.
Basically, my question is how do you tell what the cyan-titled people do? I couldn\'t find any commant for it, and clicking on them didn\'t seem to do anything. Also, where *can* I find merchants to sell me armour and weapons?
Any help would be most appreciated!

Greetings!
I believe that either single-clicking on NPCs or right-clicking will bring up a few icons, the eye being one, and if they are merchants, a sort of... merchant-like graphic :) It\'ll be easier to notice once you see it. Harnquist, standing by the blacksmith building in Hydlaa plaza, sells weapons and mining supplies (and a few useless-besides-decoration shields, I believe). The cook in Hydlaa\'s tavern kitchen sells food, and a husband-and-wife team standing up in a small park just by Hydlaa\'s exit gates sell things too - I believe armor. Then you have Trashok in Akkaio, among others... Just a few NPCs to check out, for now :)
Also remember that you can get quick and helpful answers almost all the time in-game by using the Help tab of your chat window.

Thank you very much for the assistance! I\'ve never played a 3D graphical game before (I\'m used mostly to text-based MUDs), so this game is rather difficult to get used to.
One again, thank you very much for the help!

I do agree with Feye that Merchants are \'hard\' to find if you are a complete newbie. Most tend to walk in any random direction hopeing to find a Merchant.
Maybe we should put a icon (mechant looking) on top of their name or at least change the colour slightly to identify them.
But i\'m sure this has been discussed in the Wish List forum

Or they could be just easily identifiable, like either inn their shops or outside with carts full of their wares.. :D

That would be a lot more realistic. Right now we have weapons merchants that produce sabres out of thin air. Would be great to change that ;)

The merchants in Ojaveda are done quite well. They are each inside their own shop, with the name of the establishment clearly marked outside the store. In Hydlaa, the are either in the middle of the road, or standing *outside* their shop.
Perhaps this is something that wasn\'t thought of early enough to implement in Hydlaa, and making large scale changes to existing maps is not high on the priority list?

Maybe they use a very powerful spell to produce weapons out of \"nothing\". :P (At least that\'s the way I would do it if I was in their shoes.)
But seriously: maybe the one could add some kind of signs (similar to those in Akkaio) to the shops of merchants, so they can be identified easier.
