ahhh! i hate autodesk! cad... i had to use it in my engineering class last year, but then in the 2nd semester we got solidworks installed in all the pc\'s and it is WAY better...
btw, i remember making that exact same part lol :D
hey, did anyone else notice in the tutorial window, it says \"creating a part
(40 of 38 )\"
he\'s on page 40 but there are only 38 pages! amazing!

What I love the most about these tutorials is how little they really seem to care about the parts you make. IE tutorial says:
When you are finished you may add holes if you like. You don\'t have to, but if you\'re really anal about making them go right ahead. Really, I\'m not stopping you. Go drill holes in the part and make it \"perfect\". You little nerd, you seriously don\'t have to add them. WHAT ARE YOU DOING? You\'re making holes? Why? To make it complete? Have you learned NOTHING? CHRIST!

I\'m tempted to post something I made in Blender, but I\'m too lazy to find somewhere to upload it.

Maybe I\'m not so lazy after all.
The mesh was easy, the texture settings I got from a site (I can\'t remember the address).

I\'m not very good, I\'m still learning.

Whats obscure is, if you look at one of the windows there, it says \"Creating a Part (40 of 38)\". 40 of 38? Like the 40th step of a 38 step sequence? What exactly is going on there?..

Tauren, you\'re not important enough to make an observation like that. We had to bring in ramlambmoo

We use a lot of AutoCAD mechanical and Inventor at work doing illustrations for aviation parts manuals, and maintenance manuals. I know what it cost to license ours so I\'m not even going to ask how you\'re playing with it, lol. (Or about how many on the dev team could really afford $3500 software either, because I\'m sure I know the answer). We also use solidworks, and I prefer Autodesk all the way. I\'d probably prefer 3DS Max too, but LW seems to be where I\'m headed. (Unless someone wanted to mail me a copy of 3dsMax 7 or 8, hint hint).
