The definition of kill stealing has been expanded to mean:
1. Using the arrow glitch to interupt another player\'s attack.
2. The following situation:
Player A has the intention of killing Monster A
Player B kills Monster A
Therefore, Player B stole Monster A from Player A
Discussion?

not a great topic for discussion, but whatever floats your boat, there was no gm meeting this week, and thus that point will be added to the next meeting.

Since the definition is be treated as cannon, I am showing it to the other players:
1. So that they know about it, and aren\'t banned for breaking a rule they don\'t know about.
2. So that they can discuss it, since the definition is new and perhaps imperfect.

its not the kind of things players get to decide on, and infact thus far this problem of kill stealing has been approached using personal judgement, like i\'ve said before when such a problem becomes a more common occurance we will make a clear set of rules
of which we are going to do in the next meeting
I know you have a grudge against gm\'s i know you wqill deny it and i dont really care, this is not the place to either hold a grudge nor discuss such things that are not within your \'testing\'
just hold on for one bloomin week, that\'s all i ask
-
Grudge against all the GMs? You\'re right in predicting that I\'ll deny it, since you know it to be untrue. I sincerely believe that only a few specific GMs have been misbehaving, and that many players have had problems with the same individuals.
This isn\'t the thread to discuss that however. Of course, there are no threads to discuss it since they almost always get deleted. I wonder... are you trying to provoke discussion on the subject so the thread will get deleted?
Enough of that. I posted the new definition for the reasons I gave. I don\'t expect playtesters to decide on policy, but I think we should be allowed to discuss it. Don\'t you?

Shal why don\'t you just shut up before you dig your not so little hole any deaper?
Alow someone with a few morals to explain it to you. If you see someone waiting to kill a monster and you run up and kill that monster before they have a chance then you are intenionaly robing them of the oprotunity to kill that monster.
Now most of the time this won\'t make that big a difference but when you start doing it to the same people over and over again is when you start to creat a problem. And before you even go and try to deny it; this is something I have watched you do a great many times.

What is the name of your ingame character? I don\'t remember ever seeing \"Hatchnet\".
To get answers to your questions, read the other posts in this thread. Better yet, read the responses to your posts in the other threads you\'ve gone off topic in (spammed). I\'m tired of answering your questions over and over again.
-
Strange Shal that you would not remember the name of a player who has repeatedly berated you for ksing and for abuseing bugs. Maby you don\'t remember me because I don\'t generaly report people unless they are causeing a magor problem.
Although I will admit I don\'t remember everyone I see ingame either.
Anyways stop acuseing someone else of takeing treads off topic and spaming unless they are actualy doing it. It might help your reputation just a little.

- I don\'t remember every talking to a player named Hatchnet.
- You are taking this thread as well as the guildknights thread off topic.
- You keep asking the same questions over and over again, no matter how many times they\'re answered.
-
How is this tread being take off topic? And again How is the Guild Knights tread being taken off topic?
^That is off topic. Not discusing weather or not doing something in a thread about that doing something; nor discusing the behavior of members of a guild in that guilds thread.
So in truth you are the one going off topic with your acusations of going off topic. But then again your are probably only makeing those acusations to support your side of the argument.
-
How i love those KS topics :)
So when i choose a mage as my proffession, before i attack some NPC i have to shout:
I\'m now casting summon missile at NPC A
Don\'t try to attack it
Casting in
5
2
1
4
Now!
3
Player which was standing near it switched before to guild tab, havent seen the messages and so he attacked the NPC A. He didnt realized in time, he cant attck him anymore and so get killed.

That KS rules are so silly......
PS numbers order is on purpose

I think the idea is to stop people from doing the following thing:
In order of occurance:
Player A attacks Creature
Player B begins arrow spell on same Creature
Player A lands a damage dealing hit on Creature
Player B\'s spell completes successfully
Player A is blocked from attacking Creature
Player B begins a physical attack on Creature
This is the kind of kill stealing which I often see go unchecked. If it isn\'t obvious, Player B stole the creature from Player A. If you don\'t think this works, try it on a willing friend.

Yet another useless \"I have a problem with authority!\" thread.
What I \'m going to say isn\'t aimed at Zanzibar individually but I think that a lot of people might benefit from hearing this.
There will always be people in charge of things, a project like this is no difference. The Devs and GM\'s make the rules and their word is law. Since it is a rather large and widespread team I am very confident that there is enough internal control and co-operation for them to be effective.
Being in charge is a very tough job, you need to show authority and maintain that or else people push you around. At the same time you need to be fair, but of course the people that get reprimanded or punished never think you are. And god forbid that you ever make a mistake for it will be seen by everyone as they are pointing and whispering behind your back. It will most likely haunt you for as long as you are in charge. But yes we all know those in charge are just people too.
It is common knowledge that one listens to people in charge or suffers the consequences but it doesn\'t seem to be common knowledge that you shouldn\'t publically disagree with figures of authority. Doing that really doesn\'t get you anywhere. They hold all the cards and only their patience and goodwill are the reason you can still complain about them.
I am not saying you should obey their every command, obviously they are just people too and will make wrong decisions, though those aren\'t always the same as decisions you don\'t happen to like. The proper way to bring up one of those decisions would be ...
1. Seriously consider if your problem is worth making a big deal, which will possibly make things worse for you or everyone.
2. Contact the figure of authority involved and politely explain your side. No need to get heated or insulting because aggrevating someone who holds power over you will be in your disadvantage. Also it is extremely important to do this in a private manner and not a public one because private discussions aren\'t as harmful to the existing level of authority than public discussions, which is for your own advantage. Missteps of a figure of authority will and can never be solved publically .. these matters are handled in private for reasons I explained above.
3. If the first steps were fruitless and you still feel you are being mistreated you go over their heads to whoever has more authority and again politely explain your side. The higher you go up the ladder the bigger the chances are of you being ignored or told to go to someone else.
4. If nothing works and you are still annoyed ... pack your bags and leave or suck it up and admit defeat.

Nope. May I direct your attention to the first post in the thread?

Bull. You should, if there is a reason to. However, in this forum -- as much as we should, we cannot. I\'ll quote Moogie on the subject:
\"YOU MAY NOT POST THREADS OR REPLIES ON THIS FORUM WITH THE INTENT OF ARGUING OVER GM DECISIONS, RULES, OR ACTIVITIES. THESE ARE NOT VALID TOPICS OF DISCUSSION FOR ANY PART OF THIS FORUM. YOU MUST DISCUSS THE MATTER IN PRIVATE WITH THE GM(s) INVOLVED AND/OR GAME ADMINS ONLY. MODERATORS HAVE THE RIGHT TO DELETE OR EDIT ANY POST OR THREAD DISCUSSING GM ISSUES. \"
I have tried to avoid this in this thread, though a GM tried to trick me into talking about it. If there is any confusion on what the thread is about, simply direct your attention to the first post in the thread.
