We are the Guild Knights.
[HISTORY]
Postponed.
[OUR GOALS AND BELIEFS]
Sirunie Looseye started this guild with the belief that there must be a guild that anybody can turn to, to go to for help and to be able to trust. He started a mission to create a guild of Knights, with the honor and loyalty that Knights represent, not the weapons or power. He wanted a guild where power has no meaning, only honor and honesty.
The name Guild Knights come from the hope and dream that this guild will not only be a guild that people can turn to, but other Guilds too. Us Guild Knights are meant to serve the world and all the rainbow of guilds and people that populate it. As in \"Knight of the Guilds\", \"Guild of Knights\"; the name means both and all.
To be a Guild Knight is to help where help is needed, to support good causes and to bring even the lowliest farmhand into a person worthy to be King. To be a Guild Knight is to become a person who anyone can trust, anyone can talk to, anyone can look up to, anyone can join.
That is our dream and goal, and may it be upheld.
To summarize:
The largest and most central point of our guild is sharing. We share money, weapons and information, fellowship and help. We also make a point to donate to newblets and help them along.
We are not a mass-recruiting guild, we are a guild that helps newblets and makes them great. Already we have at least 5 members that were only brand new players a few weeks ago who are now great warriors!
All Guild Knights must be courteous and polite, as well as sharing. New members will be given tools of the trade at our discretion and help and support, and in return we ask them to help new members themselves later when they are strong. Members are strongly encouraged to talk in guildchat as there are not many other ways to monitor behaivior.
[OUR RANKS]
Apprentice
Knight
Brown Knight
Red Knight
Azure Knight
Crystal Knight
Arch Knight (Inviting Power)
Knight Avatar (2nd in command, All Permissions)
And Sirunie Looseye, our guild leader.
All members have power to view and use GuildChat.
Inviting privileges may fluctuate based on whether it is time to recruit, although apprentices can never invite.
[OTHER INFO]
We have a great number of guild activities and quests, and all memebrs are encouraged to join them. We often group up as a guild and go monster hunting and to the arena. And sometimes, although rarely, there are guild wars that we enter.
The new website is up! Although it is still not fully complete yet, it definitely already has more stuff than the old one.
Website: http://guildknights.thedragonpeak.com
Forums: http://gkforums.thedragonpeak.com
We have a teamspeak channel, but its IP changes so ask in-game. ( Get teamspeak at http://www.teamspeak.org )
[CONTACT]
PLEASE CONTACT US IMMEDIATELY IF YOU SEE A RUDE OR OFFENSIVE GUILD KNIGHT. IT MEANS OUR REPUTATION AND IS OF UTMOST IMPORTANCE THAT WE KNOW!
To join us or contact us (about the rude Knights also) send a tell to either Sirunie or Antra. You can also contact any member of the Guild Knights and they will relay the message to us.
That\'s it for now.

With this you can now start fighting fair and not running away and healing so much, else break your own guild rules :P

I have no problem with Guild Knights. There is one of your members who last nights pulled a stunt that I consider down right dis-honorable. I was standing outside or akka near where the rouge is and he attacked the rouge. Soon after he relized he could not beat the rouge and instead of just running he ran behind me until the rouge started attacking me and then he left. Now this is just wrong no matter what. He could have asked my help and I would have given it without question but instead he did that. When I asked him why he did it he just replied \"wah wah wah get over it\". This players name is \"Necro\". Hopefully you can explain to him why this is wrong to do and hopefully he will say he is sorry to you if not me. Thank you.

Antra I realise you are trying to get your guilds reputation back on track. So I willing to offer you a little bit of advice concerning orginazation.
Awile back in the other thread someone said that the larger the guild the more difficult it was to keep people orginized. This is not true however with a larger guild greater care must be takein with orginization:
Aproach the task like a general; who are your officers and who are they in charge of? Once your officers are in place and takeing responsibility for keeping their group of players under controll it will become a lot easier to organize and keep your guild organized.
Here\'s an example from the chain of comand intended for my own guild:
Lord Marshal is the leader of the guild.
Senior Knight Marshal is second in comand and over the other Knight Marshals as well as his own regiment.
Knight Marshals are over their own regiments and directly over two Foot Marshals.
Foot Marshals are over their own squads consisting of Rose Knights, Sword Knights, Shield Knights, and Knight Errants as well as the pages and squires of those knights.
The Various Knights are over their platoons of pages and squires.
Hope this helps you with ideas to get everything together. (Obviously I don\'t expect you to use this same system it was only provided as an example)
-
Hatchnet\'s model is a good one. The Dragon Council, which was absolutely enourmous before the wipe, operates that way. They aren\'t one single group so much as they have many divisions with lesser leaders in charge of a finite number of members. Twin Blades also operated that way.
Of course, when one of your generals is corrupt, problems can happen. :-D
-
Wow Hatchnet.. that sounds incredibly complicated. How do you plan to keep track of all your members? :P
I wish there would be some guild groups thing implemented to make it easier.
We were considering doing that a while ago though.
-
Hey Antra, I might be in a different guild now, but I am still an ally with Guild Knights and will still help organize it like I said before... And I will always be the Jokester you know and love (or hate depending on who you are). I am simply in my other character\'s guild now..... Makes it easier and more convenient for me to be in the guild that I am the leader of...
-
Zak left, Anthony left, I got booted for being abrasive (muh ha ha ha, oh and grow a thicker skin you cowards... if you have a problem with me, say it to my face like everybody else does). What\'s going on here? All the old-timers are leaving.
-
I left to join my guild that I am the leader of on Farren

It\'s not realy all that complicated; the main purpose of a chain of comand is to help delegate responsibilitys that way the reponsibility for keeping track of how many members you have and who they are, for example, doesn\'t fall entirely on one personss shoulders.
-
A lot more left then just Zak and Anthony...I don\'t even see anyone in the Guild Knights other then a few newbie recruits and the normal actives, I don\'t see the high ranked non active players anymore, such as Burules I think his name was...and a few others

Hmm. I wonder if it had anything to do with me.
-
No burules is still here he\'s just a bit busy now I guess. Zak left so he could organiza his Farren Guild, but \"Zaknefein\" will come back to Guild Knights.. Anthony left? He was never active so it wasn\'t that important. Unless he was on when I was asleep..
We also sliced about 25 of the least active pleyers, but you wouldn\'t have noticed that they have been removed cause they were never on.

Anthony was active.... he left and has his own guild now in fact. Very creative name for it too, \"Guild Warriors\".
-
Ahh must be another offshoot. SOmeone was wanting to leave and create a branch \"Guild Mages\" also.. hehe
No anthony was not in the slice, I know that. Weird mabye its the motivation from the glorious Guild Knights but alot of people are trying to make their own guilds.. :P
I think Anthony actually talked with sirunie about this though, it must be a intentional branch with such a name.

No, I\'ve heard that people are leaving because of disatisfaction with the guild knights. I agree that the people who were fighting in the plaza during the guild wars should be kicked, but there are more problems than just that. I think you\'ll be hearing more about it soon, more or less unfortunately.
-
I ask Sirunie before I do most anything, whether I am in Guild Knights still or not.... He is who I report to still.
-
Why don\'t you guys talk on your own forums...
-
Efflixi, I told you htis before not all of us are in the same guild here. Actually right now none of us are.

Antra... people are going to read that and think, oh my....
-
IMHO:
zanzi , GK are like any guild , you find there what you bring with you and hey , beein\' abrasive is not THAT frowned upon , depends the way you do it i guess , noone never said me that i\'m too mean for GK and trust me i\'m sometimes really abrasive but...ain\'t the moto : be right , couteous and kind? you just have to put limits to yourself
-
Mmhm Zanzibar I don\'t see anyone doing the sounds of disbelief yet. No, really, it\'s true.
I don\'t know anything about the people who never come on, but they never come on so they don\'t really count as they never participate
Wait.. L_O what\'s your in-game name? :D
Oops never mind Alexar :D

-
Me thinks Sirunie has the right attitude about all of this.
-
YAY it\'s Sirunie!! Our beloved leader.. although with an interesting entry.. some one delete that other post lol

Neryam is Antra, the second-in-command Eleloy.
-
oh, (how did you know i was eleloy)
-
You said so in the Rangers of Yliakum thread..... I don\'t forget things that easily.
-
oh yeah i did didn\'t i, oh well
-
Haha lol :P Hi Eleloy!! Can\'t believe that\'s you.. :P
New website uploaded, I\'m in the process of adding content, content, and, oh, I don\'t know, mabye content.
Devorn Drascus, the previous person in charge of the website, has been killed in Katrina. May he rest in peace.
I am now in charge.
-
Devorn Drascus, the previous person in charge of the website, has been killed in Katrina. May he rest in peace.
Is that true.. I assume you wouldnt make that up. Hmm.. I think you should have said anything but that, that hey he is no longer in the guild or whatever. Maybe some of us are still a little to sensitive about that subject.. or you are too insenisitive about it.
PS and I really hope you are not using it as a metaphor.. because that would be much worse.
-
Devorn was a nice guy online. Apparently he was also a musician.
-
Really? Interesting..
Yes I am not lying of course, that would be quite disgusting.
http://www.phpbbforfree.com/forums/guildknights-post-10.html
:( Well, I hope I have not failed him as
UPDATE: Website replaced, some info changed.
-
We will miss you DEVOURN
Its at these times that i feel our world is not fare.:(
REST IN PEACE
DEVOURN
-
it is Devorn, not Devourn and yes it is quite a sad thing..
-
Hi, I\'m Ferax Carnoar, and this has been my first day playing PS.
It\'s great!!
After taking some time to kill some rats, which was a little tedious, I met a certain Sirunie Looseye. He has been a great help, shown me where certain things are and given me a few things to help me on my way.
How could I refuse to become a member of the Guild Knights?
I think it\'s great that a guild aspires to help newbies. When I learn more about the game I\'ll be doing that too!
Thanks Guild Knights!
And PlaneShift is a great game, we\'re all lucky to have it!!
-
How could I refuse to become a member of the Guild Knights?
quite easily... and although you may be happy would your d(cant spell the rest of it) i would have recomended that you take a look around at what there is to offer before jumping into someting, nothing agaist GK by the way... most of them are all very nice to me.

There are a number of complaints against the guild knights. Mostly, that they lack colour and direction. Further, that they claim to be neutral, but are in reality lawful good. They aren\'t a horrible guild, and I much prefer them to the dragon council.
-

Try to aviod joining guilds because someone was nice to you. Guild Knights has some 130 members and thats likely how they recruited them. But check out what the guild stands for.. beliefs, structure.. everything. You never know if the guild is going to be here. I know a guild is very appealing when you get here.. but resist the urge..
-
the question was rhetorical.
As a gamer i don\'t mind taking random turns. I was stoked that someone would even ask me to join a guild.
I must admit that when I said \'yes\' i really DIDN\'T know what i was getting myself into, but now that i know what they are about i think the idea is a good one.
Also, if Guild Knights, who are neutral, look like lawful good, then maybe the guilds that ARE lawful good just aren\'t very lawful or good.
I dunno, just an idea.
like i said, I\'m new to the game and to online RPG, so remember to cut me some slack before you (metaphorically) hang me!!!
game on.
-
Sorry about that.. I wasnt trying to \"hang you\" in any way. I was just stating what I was thinking.. I guess I could have thrown in a few smiles :P.
I was stoked that someone would even ask me to join a guild.
Hmm.. they came out and just asked you huh? I didnt think they were mass recruiting anymore but no matter. Though I am not a fan of MR (lol.. never thought of it like that :P) guilds they do have a place. RP oriented/respected guilds often dont want to train green players.. So if you were a newbie then I would say its not a problem to join these types of guilds for learning.. but when you are an advanced player they dont have as much to offer you. Then if you want move on to a good that suits you better. Of course if you want to stay with an MR guild that is fine too :P.
-
Please welcome me to the forum! =D I am Anese in game =D
-
hello Anese....there has been complaint abouts certain GKs.. a guy mentioned to me that i killstealed his mob.. i apologized to him and he said thank you for me apologizing but he said quite alot of the GKs were killstealing... so i think we might need a few more improving members
On the good side our members are becoming very strong very quickly...we may have alot of members but most of these members are pretty strong now
-
Hi Anese! Well, we have a great much more to offer to Newbies that is very true. We handpick our members, and the members that are polite and seem like nice people are invited.
We have no less to offer to experienced players. We often have the high-level monster hunts, (We often invite the newblets to those too :P ) and after what we do to the new players 99% of the time they feel obligated to return the favor to us and the other new players. And the wonderful fellowship also keeps all members in.
As far as my knowlege goes, only 2 members left the guild knights (And those were because of Shalmaneser so it doesn\'t really count). Practially everybody who joined the Guild Knights are happy with the guild.
Really? GKs are kill stealing? Of course, with the lag problems now almost everybody is kill stealing by mistake because other people are either invisible or across the room. :P I\'ve had many a player laugh about how this happened to them..
BUt as long as they realize it and apoligize
-

I dont mean members who are experienced with a sword or whatever in game and can kill things quickly or efficiently. All those stats will be wiped away soon, and later I assume these swords will be much harder to come by so it will be impossible to equip a guild such as yours, unless we can simply buy them in the future.
But how many members do you have that are learning what PS is? So many things here you can only get from being here for a good amount of time. And in addition, how many of your members are frequenters of the forums or ever show in IRC? This may sound a little funny, but PS is more than a one headed monster (ingame playing). Im not trying to be rude, I know how basic criticism is now known as flame because we do have quite a few sensitive people here now, but I would suggest you look back at some of the guild threads from a year plus ago. But please dont post on them :P.

*yawn* What\'s this? More of Antra\'s lies? Far more than a mere two members have left the guild knights. Perhaps, Antra, your memory is failing you?
May your metal fail in battle as your memory fails in speach.

so far i have seen... Talamir, Joedimatt (or something) and Narcal (only to help out other guil;ds in guild wars.. so that doens\'t count) leave.. That is basically 2 i have seen leave

Sindar left, came back, then left again permanently. Drakmar or something left because of fighting and insults. I left because of Sindar, then came back because so many people were asking me to join, then I had to leave again because so many people were accusing me of having an abrasive personality (among other things).
Before that, there were other people that came and went as well. But this is beside the point... far more than 2 people have left the guild knights in it\'s recent history.
-
i said so far I HAVE SEEN... i knew that there would be aloot of others and yes i knew about Sindar leaving or something but i knew there would be alot more than that... at the moment most of our memebrs are active...

Lies?! Pah \"As far as my knowlege goes\". THis means that I have SEEN only 2 people leave. Read carefully please.
You\'re just unhappy because I supported the people who wanted you to leave to protect our guild reputation..

Why should I be unhappy? Your own words do you more harm than a blade ever could. That is cause for rejoice!
The Guild Knights are supposed to be neutral. Why then is it that they focus on being nice, inviting good people, kicking out evil influences, fighting evil, etc etc?
-
zanzibar, there is a difference between a reputation for being evil and a bad reputation...

I think you\'re confusing things. Yes, there\'s a difference between having an abrasive personality, and being evil-alligned. That much is true. However, having an abrasive personality fits in with an evil-alignment. It can also fit in with a good-allignment as well -- for instance, AD&D-style chaotic good (vigilantes ). You can also look at members of other guilds like the Dragon Council who claim to be good characters within neutral guilds, but they\'ve also proven to be highly \"abrasive\" under certain circumstances. I\'m not talking just from the point of view of Shalmaneser -- I\'m also refering to observations of them relate to other characters, as well as myself using various alternate names.
The joke is that I was hardly the only \"bad apple\" if we\'re too asume that I was a \"bad apple\" at all. During the time I spent with guild knights, I took notice of quite a few individuals who were rather colourful. Sindar makes the top of that list, and he like myself had the good sense to leave the guild. Unlike him, I didn\'t have the good sense to stay away once invited back.
The further joke is that no one spoke to me personally or on the guild chat before I was made to leave. Since then, only Antra has spoken to me personally about the issues as a chief orchestrator of my resignation. The rest have remained silent, both before and after, except to chime in on the forums in minor ways among the comfort of the flock. It all happened behind closed doors in a very interesting way: Sirunie was forced by a select group of members within his own guild to kick out one of his friends, or alternatively to see the threat of a split within his own guild. I question the loyalty of anyone who would force their leader into such a position.

Well I personally would kick out the opposition (the group of members) in that case...

It\'s not that simple. Sirunie values the unity of his guild. Kicking out one member is much simpler than saying \"Ok. You\'re going to have to choose between me and Antra.\" or whatever the case may be. Further, at least one of Sirunie\'s friends were among the voices of opposition. He was in a hard position.
Perhaps he made the wrong decision, but I don\'t think one can be angry at him for making it.

in my opinion Zanzibar is nowhere near as bad as this other guy... Evangan is the world\'s most annoying idiot...i am pretty happy as long as he doesn\'t join the guild
-
Hi,
My name is alex. i just dl'ed this game yesterday and little do i know they are in the middle of an update. so i am extrremly anxious to start playing this game as i have never played before. i was looking at guilds whie waiting for the update and i came across you guys. i am very interested in joining so let me tell you what i am thinking about for a character. i want my character to be either a Kran or an Enkidukai. i am 85 percent sure however i will choose the Kran. i wish him to be very powerfull in mele skills and i am not worried so much about magic yet. i like to play in groups and kill big creatures and i love being the one taking damage so my teamates can do what they have to do.
The main thing that got me interested in this guild was when it said that people share in the guild. this i liked very much. i always play games were people play together an i always drop games were people play for themeselves. for me teamwork in a game is what makes the game better.
So, i hope you will allow me to join your guild and i look foreward to playing with all of you if i do join.
BTW i am running on a mac so if anyone is running *teamspeex* (not teamspeak2) please tell me.
-
I'm afraid the guild knights are no more. You might try the Dragon Council, but they have baggage...
-
The guild knights were a good rivaling guild, and fun to duel against. I kinda miss 'em, even though back then I hated them. :P
-
They are still around.
Few weeks ago I saw one on the hill (iron ore) taking the rogue there from three others.
Kitiranna and Navarr from the scions where there, as well as Ookamino.
Dreikano was the name of the not so honorable Guild Knight.
And once again, The Templars are not affiliated with the other Knight guilds. Just wanted to make that clear again.
