Title: File Structure
Post by: Sakar on September 06, 2005, 10:48:31 pm
Is it possible to unzip, say \"hydlaa_plaza.zip\" into a directory \"hydlaa_plaza\" and change the references in the configuration file(s)?

I know that after an update I\'d have unzip the fixed files again, if the above concept would work. My computer has this bad habit of scanning every single zip file access, making map loads freeze not only the client but all other processes while the file is scanned. Unfortunately I can\'t find a way to disable that feature alone in my AntiVirus software.

Part of the reason I ask instead of tinker is that you might have a very important reason for using zip files ^^;

Hmm...  Well, technically it\'s probably possible... but realistically, no.  The best solution would be to disable the zip scanning in your antivirus.

Having the file zipped or unzipped doesn\'t make a difference.  You can unzip hydlaa_plaza.zip into a directory called \"hydlaa_plaza.zip\" and the engine won\'t know the difference.  As long as the directory name is the same as the zip name there should be no problem.

Yeah, they could have mentioned that in the skinning guides :)

Thankyou all, next time I get a chance to play I\'ll try it.
