Post by: Canus on September 10, 2005, 06:38:11 am
I set the fly command to e. THough for the first few times i kept failing horribly and died quite a few times. Even though i doubted quite a few times I did it :). I did this numerous times. (http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y292/Avolc/theklyrosthatcould.png)

Indeed, currently the flying \"feature\" is a lot of fun :) Needless to say it\'s heavily bugged, however... If not one giant bug by itself ;)

what do you mean you fell and died, falling doesnt hurt since the update?

I must have missed something

Normal falling doesn\'t, but when you try to fly there are chances you\'ll get a \"You\'ve tried to fly but failed horribly and hurt yourself\" message :P

Efflixi: Check the keyboard commands of your client in-game. There is a fly command you can set a key to. Combined with jumping, it allows some greater height and distance, though it takes a while to learn to handle without going SPLAT.

when i first tried it there was a text that said you failed horribly flying and you injured yourself blah blah about 50 dmg.

Also, If you change your \"run\" key to a keyboard key (like \'v\' for example) and press run, jump and fly at the same time, you get an extremely uber jump.

In addition to this, a very obscure bug exists whereby if you use either of these exploits (the jump + fly or jump + run + fly) and your character is facing a certain direction, then the effect of it will be doubled, enabling you to get some very high jumps.

All it takes to fly is to throw yourself at the ground and miss. That\'s why you hurt yourself when you fail (fail to miss, that is).

It is not a giant bug, it is a humongous bug, i just discovered that it can create server lag and usualy it freezes my client when somebody tryes to fly in the same area. This happened to other people si i\'m shure when i say it is not a local or personal problem.

I have tried to fly 100x\'s but never jump high. Im supposed to use the shift (run), C (fly), up arrow (forward), and the space bar (jump). But I never get off the ground. usually i just eat up my stamina, or hurt myself. Is there some thing im doing wrong?

Yes, there is something you are doing wrong.

I can only seem to fly with the dragon-type character race, because of his gliding ability, it allows him to fly, although you cannot control it and u have to use unstick to land, its still an easy way to get to high places such as my screen...

I use F(fly)+Space(jump) and it takes a few trys, while moving to get it to actually fly...

That would be the Klyros, more fish than dragon actually ;) They are the only ones that are meant to have the flying ability in the first place.

I would soo stick an army of stonebreakers up there if I could get up there. :(
The fly command zaps almost 1/2 my poor 0pp chars stamina each \"fly\" I do. :(

like is said assign a button to the fly command and use space bar to jump, press them at the same time and it will preform a type of super jump without using any stamina, with that race though... you can guild and fly, using unstick to land otherwise youll keep flying forever
