According to a friend of mine, dev has implanted \'darkness\'. When I start PS it\'s all so dark that I can\'t see where I walk!
-
That\'s... that\'s a graphics bug, not a feature :P
Then again, the two are pretty indistinguishable at the moment :D
-
and it does look pretty cool... all night timey... they should make it a feature and give us torches or candles of flashlights
-
theres also fog, of which a Dev was using a short while ago :)

I can\'t play at all on my Mac at the moment.
Yesterday I bought a new PC laptop. After struggling for hours with a very unfriendly system to get on the internet I had to reinstall Windows and got connected straight away! Anyway I thought I would be able to play Planeshift again but I have got as far as the Character Select and in the window where my character stands is blackness with two white eyes and nothing else.
If I proceed and join the game, everything is dark but every 4 or 5 secs it lights up for a second. The characters are coloured shapes with no skin definition etc.
Because I have a Radeon card I installed the Omega drivers as suggested but they haven\'t made any difference.
I have tried changing various settings and nothing helps if anything I have probably made it worse.

My problem is sorted!!
I found the latest OFFICIAL ATI drivers for my graphics card and now it is working perfectly. So not a problem with ATI Radeon at all !!

With my first day into this experience, I didn\'t expect to see much. I figured I would walk around & see the sights before even settling in on doing anything in particular. The lighting was something I had to deal with, particularly indoors. I got lost several times, only to get fustrated & fall on the edge of the unstick button. I became so disenchanted, that I spent hour after hour killing those same two rats at the beginning of the sewers. I eventually did venture further, & even misplaced my directions, as I spent an even longer time in the city\'s underbelly. Finally emerging after hours & hours of real time, I did feel a sense of accomplishment, as I had not lost my life even once to those foul creatures.
I hope one day this project really does become what everyone dreams & more. Till then, I\'ll spend time running laps around the rouges that give chase till someone bigger comes along to lend a hand. :)
