Title: Character creation, odd...
Post by: Gwyndion on September 20, 2005, 10:19:53 pm
I ran the updater, it was slow, but I just read it, and restarted when it got stuck, anyay, this games has an interresting character creation system, but a difficult one in my opinion, I decided for the dermorian race, since I like elves, and they have high int, since I wanted to follow the red way, good offence, or azure, lightning storm, swift attacks, sounds good to me, I prefered red, but whatever options I took, I never got it very high, so I tried azure, the max I got that is 15, is that the max or so? And does anyone have any idea what choises for the red way please?

I\'ll just say this:
Max Azure Way level I can get is 19.
For Red Way I can get 15 (Well, maybe I\'ll tell you this... Make sure your parents were renowned Laanx priests ;)).

Good luck on the hunt for points ;)

Getting to 19 in Azure needs more explaining and stuff, so I shall just shush :P

You can get some spells by buying glyphs in the magic shop.

To get spells you need to buy glyphs in the magic shop.

I\'m not sure if it\'s appreciated if the rules behind the character creator are posted here. But as a rule of the thumb you can say that a lot of the magical abilities you get are determined by your birth event and whether or not your parents were priests.

Yeah, but it would be easier if we could know the max stat, doesn\'t make sense to have 15 as the max, and 19 for another magic...

Ehh... Why it doesn\'t? If it\'s easier to come across some events that might enhance your skill in using them...

Wouldn\'t it make more sense to balance all of them?

I don\'t see why...
If Talad is the supreme force in Yliakum and is connected with the Azure way, then it makes perfect sense that Azure way can be easier to come across...

Wouldn\'t it make more sense to have standard options, for every technique an equal ammount, but have each race have a different multiplier, like dwarves have a 0,5 multiplier for a standard 4 azure way event, so he gets 2 azure way, and a lemurian has a 1,25 factor thus he ends up with 5?

I don\'t think so.
Making things equal doesn\'t go well for the realism of the game.

Woild it be realistic to have 7 fire wizards for every 3 other wizards? Besides, wouldn\'t race have more of an influence on their aptitude to learn skills then environment?

acutally yes it would be realistic to have a way having more than another or less... look at religion IRL...

anywho the thing of character creation and the best way to get the fullest of your char depends on how you want your char to be... strong, fast, intelligent, magical, scaredly cowerdous weakling... you name it!

I want my character to be able to call down blazing inferno\'s, meteor storms and the like, and maybe a bit healing or lightning thrown in...

Err... thats nice and all but if all player\'s could do this think what it would do to all the nice pretty flowers, not to mention the heads of passing tourists and the Hydlaa Board of Tourism might have something to say about that.

Lol, I don\'t everybody toi be able to do it, but someone who dedicated most of his life to the fire way, should be able to do that...

There is only one skin available for now, and only a few facial variations for the male Dermorian and male Ynnwn models.

More choices are being worked on :)
