Post by: arch_fiend101 on September 20, 2005, 11:44:33 pm
I downloaded everything, i installed the update, TWICE, and i made an account (dispite the bare pixel graphics) and i tryed to join the game and it gave me an error message and another message telling me to go here. Then the last message told me to press ok to shut the program down. (deep breath) Also the graphic dont have any detail at all, there just colored polygon figures at the Character Creation, Please help!

Update your graphics card drivers.

What do you mean update? I have a G-Force FX 5600. If it can run World of Warcraft it should be able to run Planeshift.

Eh... not really :) Go to Nvidia\'s website and download the latest driver, if you do not have it (which seems definite from the description of your problems). It will fix the graphical issues.

that and what error message are you getting... from the rather vague description it feels like the \"i can\'t contact the server message\". but we\'ll need more info on it to be sure.

the exact message says \"Something unexpected happened in Planeshift: Crystal Blue. Details: EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION at 5ED3E6B2.
Would you like to save this file? Yes/no\" then it says that it has to shut down. I will try updating my driver and will let you know how it works.

Doesn\'t appear to be a sound issue, but try turning it off in PSsetup just in case.

i dont know if the id number is right but those messages appear all the time within your first couple of PS boot ups... but the graphical issue... most likely your driver... i have a geforce 5500 and i updated the driver to play BF2 so i never had to for PS... but that is most likely the case as stated before...

but yes the violation thing and also maybe sometimes a run time error might appear then they appear less ofter then they shouldnt appear at all... thats what happened with my computer anyways... it only does the run time when i alt tab but i think that that is just my computer/video card...
