Title: copy and paste

I\'d love to be able to paste text into the chat window.

I caught some of the storytelling at the pub tonight, and it was excruciating to watch everyone sloooooooowly type their story/joke/whatever into the chat window.

It would have been nice if they could have prepared their story in advance and just pasted it in at a reasonable speed.

Also, sometimes it would be nice to select and copy text. When rolling up a character, there\'s a message about the naming conventions, giving a 100 character URL to a post on this message board. No-one in their right mind is going to retype that URL, make it copy-able, or make it a hotlink.

The quick fix in would be putting the naming conventions somewhere with a human-readable URL and change the character generation blurb.

yeh i saw it as well... you need to be a fast typer really but yeah the paste thing should work on URLs as well

Copy and paste has been wanted for a while, but it\'s just not possible right now.

There are a number of other options- you can edit shortcuts outside of the game, and paste things there. And you can copy from logs of course. I know it\'s not perfect, but it can work.

I thought the version with the long url was not released liek that? At any rate, it was changed quickly to planeshift.it/naming.html . Making it a hotlink would be about as practical as making copy and paste, and less usefull.

Nice to see a sensible URL exists, but the in-game help still points to a message on the forum.

So.. umm when might we see a Ctrl + V being let in? That would really help everyone..

Er, yes. A paste feature for text would be really great for things like storytelling, songs, passing other characters letters, and other little things.

I've really no idea if it could be implemented or not. If it can't, then well I suppose shortcuts and logs will just have to be sufficient.
