Title: Frequent Crashes and 2D Graphic Errors
Post by: Georg Paulsen on October 02, 2005, 10:23:09 am
Hi! I\'ve got a IMac G4 running Tiger.
I\'m experiancing the following problems:

* 2D Graphics and Icons are often disstorted. The Buttons for Buy/Sell are just pink and green lines. This never worked out correctly.

* When Starting the game, at chosing your character, the boarder around the spinning character is disstorted too.

* The gamma is not constant. Starting the the game twice, sometimes the dark places in the sewers are just pitch black. On the next start they are moderadly lid and you can see perfectly.

* The game crashes freaquently following occations:
   looting monsters
   opening inventory
   opening options
   trying to buy/sell with NPC
   and often more....

This chrashes dont happen everytime. Ther is a about 50% chance it will work correctly.

I really like the game, but with all that errors and crashing chances its nearly unplayable... Plz give me some hints to make the game more stable!

Thx, Georg

Hi, I\'m running Mac and Tiger too, and have no of those problems you mentioned. What is your specs. It may give a clue of what\'s going on.
There is some problems on the Mac-side with the lightning. Spots in the arena are black, and DR is far too dark. These are reported.

I\'m sorry about the G4 from the last Post.
My MAC is a:
iMAC G5 with 1.8 GHz
1GB RAM
GeForce FX 5200
VRAM 64MB
OS: 1.4.2

Here the sewers are sometimes as dark as the dark parts in DR and sometimes perfectly lit, but I have no idea how to consistantly reproduce any of these errors they just happen. Lately they happen more and more often, so now my playtime between crashes is reduced to under 5 minutes.

From what I understand, those bugs only seem to effect players with Nvidia graphic cards. Hang on, and hopefully those bugs will be fixed soon(tm)!
