Last night, I finished the updater, then went into the world. I quickly found the sewers (by wandering around looking for npc\'s help) I went in, fought some rats, and each rat would only deal me about 10% damage before dying. Tonight, Each rat does more like 70%, and I don\'t have time to recuperate. Does anybody know why this would happen?

There are different kind of rats. Less and more powerful.

Some also seem to be more aggressive than others. The very first one you see as you walk into the sewers from the plaza entrance is especially nasty though.

The rats in te sewers near the tavern even chase you, like those in Ojaveda docks.

Conspiricy theory: The DE is creating Mutant Rats to destroy us all!
Real Theory: I have seen that happen, the rats deal different amounts of damage at different days. They might just be playing with the sever...
But I think its the DE!

The Dark Empire? Gee golly, and here I was convinced it was the Dragon Council.... they\'re out to get me.... they\'re everywhere...... damn you, dark dragon clan! Damn you to Hagarath!

Dark Dragon Council Empire! Out to take over the world! They were probably the ones behind the Consumer attack!

Hmm. I don\'t know of any Dragon Council - Dark Empire connection, but it would make sense. I like the Dark Empire because they bring conflict and strife to this land. However, if they realized their goal of complete domination, they would have order and lawfullness. Boredom and the loss of individuality would follow. Economically, they would also have to change their approach, basically feeding off of slave labour. Of course there would be uprisings and such, but a criminal organization is by definition a parasitic organism. A good parasite knows not to kill its host.
That\'s where its enemies serve their purpose in my mind. As long as both exist alongside one another, things are good, whether you\'re of Kjeld or of the shadow guilds. However, what if the Dark Empire is playing both sides by setting up the Dragon Council? By controlling both sides of the coin, supposed good and supposed evil, they would be ensuring ultimate control over the populace. In fact, if they are indeed the same guild, they have already one in a most Orwellian maneuver!

It\'s just where I said it was.... it\'s extremely easy to find. Technically, I shouldn\'t have even told you in this medium.

Sometimes the first rat in the sewer would do heaps to me... some rats are alot easier than others

Oh! The first rat I fought was really far back in the sewers, then that nasty one was the first one in the Hydlaa sewers. Thanks for clearing that up!

I miss the days when the rooms were full with 6 or 7 rats. Those were the days when you could actually die as a noob. *sigh*

There still is. Imagine a newbie, first time ingame, wandering around the wilderness outside hydlaa (well, far outside...), meeting an ulbernaut and thinking: Oh, what cute thingie, maybe I can talk to it...
Yup, that was my first death. And rest assured, I was a newbie all right.
