Title: Character introduction
Post by: LigH on October 10, 2005, 10:43:55 am
Before I start my own thread in accident and get scolded due to failing in the usage of the board search engine... Is there already a gathering thread where the players introduce their characters? Or is this usually done independently? And in which forum shall such a thread appear most likely?

Roleplay forum, most likely :) No such thread (yet?). Though may I ask for what purpose this would be? I\'m kind of itching to say that character introductions should really take place in-game ;)

Mostly, to have it written down where an interrested reader can read about it more relaxed than in-game. As long as I cannot copy&paste into the message window, I won\'t take all the efforts of typing such a long story again and again. ;) Maybe it helps understanding some manners you may find strange, they might be clearer when you can read more details about someone\'s past, than just the short notes in the description window.

But if no one is interrested here, I\'ll leave it in our guild\'s board only. :P

Ah, you mean like a character story? They\'re posted all the time in the RP forum, so you can definitely add yours there :) However, I wouldn\'t recommend just pointing to the thread URL in-game during storytime, of course ;)

In such cases, I prefer to refer to the local newspaper, where someone gave an interview... (and then a OOC hint about it).

LigH, there is this http://tavern.blueglyph.net/modules.php?name=Characters place, where numerous poeple has posted their stories. Characters avatars which are clickable, will lead you to less or more detailed stories.
Maybe this is place for you, even if it isn\'t on these boards

Is there still a Macro set in game? Because Monketh kept a super short version (like the cliff notes) in his macro que and just used them from there.
I did the same untill my passing.

You can write a short description (or a set of such) and assign it to a shortcut button :)
