Hello, the TCF will be hosting a festival of forgotton souls in the death realm on oct 31 midnight central standard time. the idea is that NEW players only may come recieve a treat from us be it weapons,tria or whatever....there is one catch, you will have to find out were we are hiding in the death realm to get a treat. please not this session of generosity will only last a short time, as we will run out of stuff fast....after such we will tell stories, maybe even perform some sacred rite to talad and laanx... anyone interested in being helping us out and giving away gifts to new players post here or contact me in game - Acheronista elite in the choosen few
note to new players, when u find us please do not tell all your friends were we are as this will spoil the fun.

a great thing for the new players to be sure, but i would still like to do something else along those lines... like, give out candy apples to \"trick-or-treaters\" (or whatever we wish to call them. Wandering Souls? perhaps they can say \"Token for a soul?\" XD) and have a big party in hydlaa. or perhaps in akkaio? or even at the bottom of the death realm.
just a thought to perhaps expand this into the more advanced players. of course, it would be purely for RP, since what can you give an experienced player? apples are about the most festive thing. or perhaps fish or rotten meat can be given as a \"trick\"?
OH! i thought of a better idea!!! somewhat like a hide and seek thing, but with the Wandering Souls!! we can pick, say, 3-5 people to be \"evil spirits\", who will carry with them a fish/rotten meat. they will secretly go up to someone and /tell them that they are an evil spirit, who requires a token from that person. that person must then take the fish/rotten meat from the evil spirit, and they then become the evil spirit and try to find another victim. but! everyone else can be hunting for the evil spirits. if they figure out who is the spirit at the time, they win a prize, and the spirits dwindle. and it continues until the evil spirits have been vanquished from the land, and the forgotton souls festival is over! oh, and the evil spirits only wander in Hydlaa city... they come up from the sewers. XD
whoa, i\'m sorry acheronista, i totally went off on that. XD i just love halloween, and bringing something *like* it into planeshift would be a fun idea. that way planeshift could be as festive as our lives... since i know some of you out there get that holiday bug and just can\'t help but make every aspect somewhat like the holiday. XD

u know we could turn this into a carnival type thing....some might tell fortunes, or give reading into the future of ones life....some might tell you a story, sing a song, or have a dancing contest...best story song ,and dance would get a prize too..... if u like this idea post more...and tell what prize u might give away to the winners of these events
I like the evil spirit idea alot, so anyone wanting to fill those positions post here.

well, the idea behind the evil spirits is that no one knows who they are. some one who is heading up the whole \"Evil Spirit\" thing would have to pick 3-5 random people for it IN GAME a bit before the actual game begins.
For example, October 31 at 11:30, I might be walking around the plaza and see someone named \"JoShmo\", so i /tell JoShmo \"Congratulations! You\'ve been chosen to play the part of an Evil Spirit for our Festival of Wandering Souls! Your job will be to carry around this fish and secretly give it to a \"victim\" of your choosing. You will then tell them that they have now become the Evil Spirit blah blah blah\" and so forth. so it\'s a big game of Popcorn, if you will. all spur of the moment and whatnot.
i do have a weapon to donate as a prize, in case this idea actually takes wing and goes into motion.

let me clarify what a newbie would be.....anyone that started the game this month or last, and iether has no weapon or just a regualr one from harnquist ;)

I understand this is not the wishlist, but I like your idea. I think we need certain holidays for PS, of course not like Christmas with ole Saint Draklar handing out presents to all the good little kiddies :P... but authentic PS holidays..

i agree. of course it\'s not going to be halloween exactly, but a general festival of the dead. there are many people groups in our world who celebrate festivals of the dead and who know nothing of our halloween, so why not in PS? i\'m sure they have some reverence for the dead as well. ^_^

nah. there would be multiple spirits roaming (probably 3-5), and should one become inactive for more than say, 10 minutes, a new spirit will be chosen. same goes for if a spirit needs to leave, or goes offline. a crash is okay, but if they stay offline for more than 5 minutes or so, i\'d probably choose a new spirit. ^_^ this would be announced too, probably though a /shout. or we could seclude this into a large group thing, and invite people to join. that way we can keep track of who\'s doing what. or whatever. i need some help on this. XD
but then again, i don\'t even know if anyone wants to do this. can i get a yes or no from some people? i mean, i\'d be happy to start this Evil Spirit hunt, but i\'d need some rewards for the lucky ones who guess who the spirits are. as i mentioned before, i have one sword already, but not enough for a whole celebration.

i would definately love to do this, if my client ever DLs =( 34%now, anyway, it would be much better than the way they celebrate the holidays in WoW (wich i just stopped my service on, so darn expensive) they just put in holiday related itmes, this would actually be player based, it seems like a great idea, again, i havent even DLed the game fully yet, so i dont know how much my opinion will count, but for the record, i will (probably) have this DLed by the 31st, so i will participate for sure!(35% now, yay )

okay, so far I have gotten positive feedback on the Evil Spirit part of the Festival of Forgotten Souls. I would like to go ahead and go through with it, but I cannot do it alone. I need a few donations of prizes, as well as some folk who would be willing to help run it.
For donations of prizes, i\'m looking for things like money or weapons or whatnot. maybe even something like a large bunch of teffy teeth. anything that would make a good prize. If you have a donation, post it here and I\'ll meet up with you sometime in game to collect it.
For help, we need a few people (not many, just a few) who would be willing to walk about at the beginning of the game to designate the Evil Spirits, then to walk about for the rest of the game, periodically checking in with the Spirits to know their location and to be informed of when one has been caught. The people helping will need to be quick to relay information, as well as dedicated to getting their jobs done.
I\'ll meet with those who are willing to help to explain anything they may need/want to know. I will be handling prizes, announcing start/end of game and when spirits were caught, and keep it organized (to the best of my ability. hence why i need help. XD)

As for the new player party in the death realm, talk to acheronista. I came up with the Evil Spirit game, so I\'ll take care of that. Acheronista came up with the festival, so I am not the one to talk to about any other festivities.

Stronith and I were thinking of going behind the map by the front of Hlydaa gates and mirroring the newbie\'s actions as they walk by. (would be something like a hunted house?) I think it would be great to see their faces as they come to find they cannot reach us!!! If anyone would like to join feel free......

:D Ok Stronith and I have just donated a mountion of stuff because I believe in this and think it is kick ass you guys are pulling this off. :( Unfortantly I cannot be there for I have a wee one I need to take out trick or treating. Could someone please keep me posted on what happened that night. Maybe post a few stories on the forums? pretty please with trepor sauce on top?

hopefully we\'ll be able to expell all the evil spirits in our land before then. ;D
Edit:
The Evil Spirit has left our town... for now. Thanks to Taeeth, Acheronista, Tuxide, Constrabus, and Noctem for participating as the Evil Spirit\'s victims. We will do this again next year at the same time, same date. Hope you all had fun playing!
