For those of you who are ?creeped out.??
Way off topic...
Quotes:
ok, I think you are starting to freak people with the whole \"we\" thing, just make two fricking accounts, one for each of \"you.\" It\'s really rather retarded to share an account, besides the fact that it\'s creepy...
aslo, you are one person using 2, not 2 people (I think) using one.
********, I got flamed for having two accounts...
aslo, you are one person using 2, not 2 people (I think) using one.
You weren\'t flamed on the forums :/ I only asked why you have two accounts. I believe I even attached a smiley :P Silly goose.
For those who really want to know about WE.
My husband and I share our PS Forum account to portray any of our thoughts and Ideas; this is only to save time. We find it is sad that someone is creeped out by it, as they are the only one to say so...
In game we have our own accounts?
Our work commitments mean that we cannot always be online together so WE keep notes and sometimes play each other?s characters from time to time... to help keep our story flowing, WE try to ensure continuity with our ROLEPLAYING and have thus far only have had good feedback for the way we try to entertain and in doing so have a great time with this game.
We do use different characters to help with our story and try to entertain those who join in, and apologise if this is thought to be ?wrong or retarded??
However, thus far those we have played with us and who have taken the time to ask about this using /tell we inform them of our joint use of the characters and ask if they mind ? we have not had any bad comments in game as yet?
However, as we know if one says it, many might think it? so here is your opportunity to tell us. And depending on your feedback we may just drop out of the forum altogether to avoid ?creeping others out.?; and just play the game ? as that is what we really enjoy doing most? and if you don?t like our Role Playing style? all we can say is ?sorry,? and let you get on with you own? please just don?t comment about it in public OOCly and spoil other?s enjoyment use the PM or /tell as appropriate.

Creep out .. not at all.
Confuse .. yes, two different people, no matter how close they are are still different people. So basically you two are playing schitzophrenic characters :P There is no reason for you to disappear just because you don\'t do things the \'normal\' way though. If people can\'t handle it, it\'s their problem. I personally don\'t care what you do as it is your life, your (joined) forum account and they are your characters. Therefor nobody has any reason to deny you to do what you want with them as long as it isn\'t directly offensive towards other people, which it clearly isn\'t.
-
I find it even better, less dull. If creatures are freaked out by it, they should go to Jayose and read a bit, gain some wisdom. ;)
-
Wow! I don\'t know if I met you in game before, but I find your idea of roleplaying very interesting!
I don\'t see a problem with your behaviour. That\'s what ROLEPLAYING is all about!! You\'re playing a role, and I think in a MMORPG one should be judged by the role he plays, not who he is IRL ...that\'s what it\'s all about, isn\'t it?
Well, I hope you two are doing fine and, yea, hope to see you in-game :]
-
Aye, I don\'t see any problem with it. Perhaps whoever said those things was not properly informed about what you are doing before you made this thread, so perhaps it would be wise to make sure people are aware that both you and your husband use the same account and roleplay the same characters.
I can see how some would find it difficult to speak with one person who is really two people behind the same name. People want to feel secure in who they are talking to, and not want to worry \"is it him, or is it her?\". Trust is an important bond between friends, one of the most important especially over the Internet, and I\'d consider it perfectly reasonable if you found a lack of trust in the people who speak with you online.
It is a reverse of the \"Alt\" argument. People playing secret alternative characters are essentially lying to the people they may consider friends, and often people are appauled to find out someone they thought they knew was just a \'shadow\' of another person. In this case, it\'s not one person playing two characters, but two people playing one. Either way, there is nothing technically wrong with it, but you must take care to mind other people\'s feelings and be very open with who is currently in control of the account.

Hmm, I have two issues with this:
1) This is not the game. It is merely the forum of the game, thus it isn\'t IC (save the RP board, where you must star#te as who you are playing anyway). Therefore, it is unnecessary (and even bad) to RP in the non-RP sections of the board. It\'s the same reason as for the requirement to clearly designate OOC ingame: to avoid confusion. IC and OOC can too easily be confused in a lot of circumstances, which in turn leads to all sorts of problems (I know what I\'m talking about, had that happen already).
Therefore, the RP reason doesn\'t apply to the forums AFAICS. I can see the time constraints part, and keying in your login name and password is annoying if you have dedicated accounts but not dedicated computers or desktop set-ups.
2) Having alts can easily be seen as abuse, especially when they interact with each other\'s stories. The reason is simple: by using an alt, you can in effect double your effectiveness, because you can have one compensate for what the other lacks. Example: one is a fighter and the other a mage. By not strictly keeping both out of each other\'s way and stories, you can easily have one aid the other, therefore forming a one player party, which is in effect the same as cheating to give one char everything one might ever need. This applies to both RP and use of game mechanics.
In summary: now that you cleared this up (so I know it\'s not a misguided attempt to RP on the boards), and when you also are IC / OOC where appropriate, and furthermore are very careful ingame about the problem I mentioned, it\'s acceptable.
However, the issue raised about you still being individuals and therefore different personalities and different memories (especially when it comes to knowing what exactly the other played / experienced when IC) remains.
On the boards, this will most likely become a problem in case of arguments, because that\'s where personality differences tend to show most.
Also, we already had the case of someone claiming that someone else used his forum account to post inappropriate things, to put it very mildly.
I think sharing accounts of any sort isn\'t a good idea, much less when it\'s interacting with people (i.e., a shared desktop account isn\'t necessarily problematic). But maybe it\'ll work out in your case.

We see your points and understand where you are coming from. And for that purpose we will be very careful, please note we are not into powering up... only RPing. when the game is more developed we would of course play entirely for our own charactors... but for now we just aim to entertain and give other players a taste of RPing that we hope they enjoy.
Moogie
Should anyone wish to know who is RPing at the time feel free to ask via /tell and we will gladly say so.
the little foot notes we put on the Forums in colour usually are only to add a touch of fun... if it is not wanted we will stop it at once... :))
-
It entertains me and makes it interesting when you RP within the post anyway :P Doesn\'t bother one bit and I actually like it.
-
You make the game more interesting for me :] I had fun RPing with you. It doesnt bother me if you RP in Forums it sort of makes it fun too. :)
-
I don\'t see anything wrong with what you are doing. It seems to be that your characters must have some sort of mind link, or perhaps even a shared consciousness. As long as you are able to justify this through RP, I don\'t see a problem.
I do have one question. What is the relationship of your characters? Are they married? siblings? just good friends? It seems to me that your ability would be easier to justify of your characters were blood relatives, but that\'s just a personal opinion.

As per our Mantle here in the forum, our charactors are twins, and it has been RP\'d that they have a sort of telepathy with each other, one feels the others pain, and so forth... we have thought through our game plan as best we can... please we just hope people join in, and where others want to but feel that they are new to it we do our best to coax them and encourage them as we see this game as a great place to be lost in the wonders of fantasy and fiction... Real life is something we are trying to get away from.. lol

Oh, yeah. I guess that would be why it says \"Purrty Twins\".
I do sometimes read before I post, really!
It sounds like you have everything worked out to me. I hope to meet you in-game soon.

No, I\'m not creeped out, I just figured it was a Smeagol/Gollum thing lol. I think it\'s a novel i dea myself, original to say the least.

Little role-play footnotes in the forums are fine, in my opinion, as long as they remain little footnotes (1-3 sentences, at most, I\'d say). ;) Any longer role-play should be relegated to the role-playing forum.
-
Well it may be confusing but I for one think people should be confused every once in a while (or for me, most, if not all, of the time). Being confused is what makes me feel alive!
Any way I see no problem with what is being done, though there is a problem with people having a problem about it. Of course those are the people that can not except something new, different, or... confusing ;)

We shall take that onboard and avoid any lengthy ones... though usually what is said by our In Character footnotes is about the post but we try not to make it political... or contradictory to the serious comments we make for Real.
Thank you all for your comments so far. We have come to the conclusion that the game is, on the whole, played by people who are level headed and enjoy it for what it is now and what it will become.
Lolitra waves Celorrim waves Celorrim\'s little white kitten Celloran hiccups and both the twins say \'AWWWWW cute...\'

I can just say that it is alright for me, the footers are always fun and you both also RP well.
I cant say though that i wasnt confused at first ...
Sooo yeah, have fun and keep it up.
-
sometimes like kwip i find it confusing, but fun.
but sometimes it makes me think :| and this \"since we sent you my last\" leaves me thinking lots of things.

LOL only one of us can type a reply at a time using one account and we all make typos.. writing in the third person is not always easy.. - I (husband) have sent you a PM.
Enjoy the fun the game gives... we will do our best not to offend whilst we enjoy its setting.

That self-portrait in your sig creeps me out, but other than that i dont see any problems :)

Verrliit\'s eyes sparkle.
She says, \"You\'ve managed to creep someone out?\"
She claps her hands, and says with delight, \"Ohh, that is so wonderful!\"
Enraptured, she barely breathes the words...
\"Do it again.\"
