Title: not so subtle manipulation...

from one object ( i forget which one now )  i managed to create a short sword. wheee.  114 poly\'s and made from one  starting shape.

Hmm, looks decent overall, but has two issues AFAICS:
1) The handle is highly unusable. It doesn\'t give any grip support when swinging (on the contrary, it looks like it\'s designed to lose grip and slide out of the wielders hand).
2) The blade looks a lot too thick, like that of a practice sword made of wood. Though we should maybe have these. Could be neat to have to fight a trainer with a wooden sword in order to complete theory before being allowed to practice. :)

yeah i did notice the thing wth the handel it kinda  slope inward at the end  :(  and ill fix the bade thickness.

indeed arcane, it could stand to optomize a few poly\'s, otherwise it\'s ok, not really interesting save as a test or something.

On a side note: do you ever intend to get a renderer so we don\'t always get these crummy screenshots?

ya, although wings only has an opengl renderer if I remember right. Still, it\'s better than screens.

You could always give yafray a try.  For wings you\'ll want to read this (http://wiki.yafray.org/bin/view.pl/UserDoc/Wings3DMihnea) tutorial.

i  did try to weld but it onlly allowed me to weld  the whole moddel...
and then not alot  happened.  were the lines supposed to dissapear or somthing ?  and that tutorial thingy is a joke right ... cos now it wont get the hell of my screen :| and i went to registration address... same thing.
to be honest i only did this to see if i could actually do it. it was a long time ago but i figured i would finish it  off after i dug it up yesterday....  and yeah ill use the renderer in future.
