Title: I lost all my animations
Post by: LigH on October 25, 2005, 09:42:11 pm
Is it possible to mis-tweak the configuration so badly, that I see neither mesh nor texture animations?

More exactly: It seems that I only get one \"shot\" of the animation state in my eye, and it never changes afterwards, until I leave the sector and return later.

Here a few screenshots to demonstrate the effect on textures. Similar effects on mesh animations are already described in this thread (http://www.planeshift3d.com/wbboard/thread.php?threadid=20028&boardid=33).
__

Please compare the sparkles texture - it is always exactly the same, no matter where I look.

Now I moved away most of the \"data\" folder and updated. So the animations returned. Still, I don\'t know which file exactly was reliable for the loss.

I wish my animations would come back

To summarize the last days and other threads about the same topic (wasn\'t this ones title obvious enough?!):

The missing character animation was fixed by (re-)moving outdated DLL files, which were not detected by the updater to be outdated (for whichever reason).

I had to keep at least the following DLLs to allow the updater to work at all (either Windows told me a DLL is missing in the PATH, or the updater could not process files without them):
All other DLLs could be (re-)moved before running the updater in recovery mode.

p.s u dont need xmlshader.dll or xmlread.dll to run the updater in recovery mode :)
