I\'d suggest you take the player guide from the begining to the end. if you want to enjoy planeshift you\'ll need to. and the answer is there (if I remind it accurately, that\'s in the first chapter or the second, where it deals with install and setup ...)

oh, and you\'re lucky not to get insulted for such a question, in PS you\'ll find plenty of people who don\'t like people who don\'t even browse through the player guide ...

The Downloads (http://www.planeshift.it/download.html) section on the main PlaneShift website offers instructions for creating an account:

After filling in and submitting the registration form, you will receive an email with a link to the activation page. Before loading the world however, make sure that you have updated both the game client and your graphics card drivers. The PlaneShift updater utility can be found in your main PS directory, and Start->Programs->Planeshift Crystal Blue->Planeshift Updater if you?re on Windows. You may want to follow instructions found in this thread (http://planeshift.oodlz.com/wbboard/thread.php?threadid=19398&boardid=17&styleid=3), however, since regular updating has been troublesome lately. While waiting for the updater to finish its work, I would suggest you read the Player Guide (http://www.planeshift.it/guide/en/index.html), and browse through a few stickies found in the various forum sections. hey, i\'m not saying I\'M less of a n00b than modfox (because i\'m probably not...) but really, i found that post quite amusing ;) not to mention that i made my forum account the same day i posted this...  :P
