Since the healthpoint bar is unstable at best and useless at worst, would it be possible to implement a small red flash of aura when you take a hit. I watch the system text but if you are training a sword and others are fighting it is really hard to catch all of the text as it goes by.
I have unchecked all the boxes in the chat filter for other players but I still see when they\'ve killed something if they are in the vicinity. This can be a huge distraction in the arena or sewers. It makes it very hard to tell when what you are fighting actually hits you back.
Some kind of visual clue would be very helpful in determining if you are getting the worst end of a battle.

The health bar works fine for me.

It always works when I join but minutes later it and stamina et al are frozen despite sometimes losing point for them. I cannot see when to cut and run from a fight or when to risk beating the opponent before he beats me. That is crucial in some aspects of the game.
-
It works sometimes for me and sometimes not. Its biggest problem seems to be that it doesn\'t always update itself. I\'ll go from 100% health to dead without anything in between, even though my ping sits around 240 - which is more than playable normally.

I think a better solution would be to change the text colors, \"Rogue hits Baurak for 12.4 damage\" would be red text \"Baurak hits Rogue for 752.8 damage\" would be green. Other players fighting or killing would be gray maybe...
I have often wished that I could adjust the colors of the various \"system\" messages.
Another one that should be changed is the /greet command, either it needs to be clasified as chat, or the color changed, because all too often it gets lost among the system messages.

A lot of games warn you when you take damage by shaking your screen sligthly and having it flash red for a second. This would only work in first person, though.

That is a good solution and easily learned. If I only had to scan for red writing I could see the hitpoints of the blow and it would be fine. I like that idea a lot.

A floating damage indicater above the characters will cut down on the chat spam while still providing all the infomation needed.

Only that red is usually used for the critical damage.

In the end all races will have a /greet animation, so there\'s no real point.

I agree that the color difference would be nice to have.
