Laanx dungeon has been deserted since CB came out, so it\'s no wonder there\'s been updates we never saw.
I was bored so I jumped down the well in laanx temple. The frist thing I noticed was that I wasn\'t dead. It semms the drop has been updated so that you can get down without killing yourself. speaking of which I didn\'t last very long before I fell off a cliff so, the mystery still remains if there\'s anything else that\'s new.
-
The drop only dealt around 65 damage to you before the wipe. They\'ve been doing a lot of changes in there, but it\'s mostly with the monsters. I haven\'t seen anything too major, like new areas etc. I haven\'t been there in a while though.
-
That was changed months ago :)

Dude, where have you been, I even knew that...

hmm I usually dont jump down the well, but make a turn jump around that wall, in order to get into the dungeon.
btw. Xordan did I ever say that I really like your signature?
And hmmm, I cant say for sure, but I recently stumbled into a hall I\'ve never been in ...
-
*hops out of his offtopicmobile*
Guess who made that signature? :D
*hops back in the offtopicmobile and zooms off, hoping that there will be updates soonish*

That isn\'t possible anymore now... They disabled rotating while jumping over a month ago.

mouse turning over rules that if i recall, not that you want to test because fall damage works fine now, any height that gives you timew to hit tab grab the mouse and steer yourself is certain death, so, as with what someone said, \"if you can\'t get there normally your not supposed to get there\" hmm... odd though, if you can\'t get around the wall coming out of the dungeon, you have to drop off the ledge, and that can kill you...

The dungeon isn\'t boring. It\'s an interesting place which was really well done. The problem is that there\'s no reason to go there. You can mine for various things, but right now mining is useless. Before the wipe, we used to camp that one rogue that would drop a broadsword every so often.
If there was a NPC that you could sell clacker parts to, then a lot of people would spend more time down there. For the wrong reasons, maybe. A NPC there could be justified as a miner, or a leper, or someone else who has reason to be underground.

As far as I know, finally all the Thugs down there drop weapons. Mainly Short and Broad swords (besides Bread). And those Thugs have a strength between the easy rogue in sewers or forest, and strong rogues in front of Ojaveda. So they appear to be good training opponents to me.

My understanding from having searched the forum is this.
1. That the only intended entrance to the dungeon is via the well in the Laanx temple.
2. That the warehouse door is only meant to be an exit.
3. That access to the dungeon is only meant for \'advanced\' players.
Fair enough, I can live with that.
My quandry is this. I have been playing for around 3 weeks now and have trained my endurance and strength with a view to increasing HP.
I also trained up in Body Development, which I have since learned is not working.
I have also trained my magic skills in Azure and Brown to use rock armour and protective wind.
In order to further improve my protection, I purchased a set of leather armour. The light armour skill is working or so I believe.
Even with this amount of training, the use of the spells and the armour. I am still unable to \'survive\' the even the first fall, down the well.
I have achieved much of this development through, hard in game work, no quick fixes or power levelling, which I believe is as it should be.
I wonder then,
1. how much character development is required to be capable of entering the dungeon the correct way, if body development were working perhaps I could?!?
2. why is it considered neccessary for entry into the dungeon to as difficult as it is? (I believe that I have a part answer to that already)
This is not meant to be a winge, whine or complaint, dev bash or anything like that.
I am trying to gain a sense of the \'balance\' of the game, or more importantly the sense of balance that is being worked towards. This is something that perhaps only longer term players would be aware of.
Why would I like to get down there, into the dungeon, some may ask?
In short to satisfy my curiosity, to explore. I have travelled farely widely to date and would like to learn more of the world in which I now \'live\'.
Thanks in advance for putting up with such a lengthy post. I trust that it is seen for what it is, a need to understand, a yearning for knowledge, regarding the game.
Cheers.

Hmm... I\'m dying in that well as well... despise having over 200 HP.
I just go inside through the warehouse, anyway.
-
Falling from the well costs less than 100 hp if you do it right. You shouldn\'t be having problems with 200hp.
-
Falling from the well costs you 0 hp if you do it right 8). Next steps require some hp points, but can be managed. Also the ladders in the dungeon can be done with minimum hp losses if done right. As in RL, you have to be careful, move slowly and watch, where to jump.

Some tips would be nice if you are willing to share your knowledge.
Also is it possible to determine how many Hit Points you have, as this is currently displayed as a percentage.
Cheers.

Err...which warehouse again? The one where you come out of from Laanx dungeon?
-
Thats the one.
i have no problem getting in with however much hp i have.

when you jump down the well your not supposed to land on your face! :D
Patience is a virtue, virtue comes with time, it\'s time to be patient :]
what was i saying.. oh yeah, either way works fine, just practice!

I suppose --fullbright is useful for that?
Normally I don\'t really see much besides where to jump to die.
Being Enkidukai and respawning in Ojaveda every time I come back from the Death Realm isn\'t so encouraging for experiments either.. Especially when I can just use the other way.

It must be great fun to some people to brag about knowing \"the right way\" to step into the well, and not telling any hints about it... I did not know so far that there is a \"wrong way\" at all...
For me, I don\'t lose any health by simply walking into the well over the right stairs. I lose ~20% by the first falling from the ledge onto the upper broken bridge, and ~50% by falling from the lower broken bridge to the platform, after ballancing down the rope.
I guess that you shall survive it if you have at least level ~80 for all physical stats (Agility, Endurance, Strength), and a stack of potions (Sharven sells them).
-
After the first jump, 100% HP.
Second jump, 79% HP left.
Third jump, 33% HP left.
No stats are even close to 80.
It should be possible even for a beginner to enter the dungeon.
There is a \"right way\" and \"wrong way\". It seems that devs have spent some time making sure that entering the dungeon is possible, but difficult enough.
As for hints, I have understood that hints and spoilers given in the forums are a big NO. In the game, yes, go ahead and ask me or anybody else for any hints 8)
-
Sounds like going in through the warehouse is a much better idea...
If you\'re good enough you don\'t lose any health that way.
-
Have been away to long LOL ;)
Still useally go through the well and I\'m an enki ;)
