\"Everyone is entitled to be stupid, but some abuse the privilege.\"

I think we\'d all agree if I said this quote is quite fitting in here.

A few of my favorite quotes.

\"Any truly advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic.\"

\"Any decent person is ashamed of the government he lives under.\"

\"Think like a wise man but communicate in the language of the people.\"

\"Personality can open doors but only character can keep them open.\"

\"You build atomic bombs, you wage wars, you muder, you cheat, lie to us and try to make us think it\'s for our own good, yet we\'re the criminals.\"

Any true nerd will know where the last quote is from.

My all time favorite quote

Quote
I know what it is I seek, and yet I know that I cannot find it here. But I feel that such dreams cannot exist without some sort of influence, and so I live with the encouragement that if I dream it, I will find it.
Anonymous

Quote
The hardest person to ever know is yourself.
ffx-2

Quote
Once you realize that your belief may be founded upon fear, fear of nothing and of no purpose, then conflict ends, fear ends, belief ends and knowledge starts.
Sinaclara, re: The Crown of Silence by Storm Constantine

Quote
The most merciful thing in the world, I think, is the inability of the human mind to correlate all its contents. We live on a placid island in the midst of black seas of infinity and it was not meant that we should voyage far. Some day the piecing together of dissociated knowledge will open up such terrifying vistas of reality that we shall either go mad from the relevation or flee from the deadly light into the peace and safety of a new dark age. Theosophists have guessed at the awesome grandeur of the cosmic cycle wherein our world and human race form transient incidents.
H.P Lovecraft, \"Call of Cthulhu\"

Just some thought provoking material

Thought is mind in the wrong place.
Matter is mind; so thought is dirt.

I did get it from someone else though.  \"Die before you die\" is a sentiment that appears in many religions, but most prominently in Islam.  There have been many variations and much commentary on it.  \"One must be empty before one can be full\", \"I once was blind but now I\'m found\", etc.

What\'s fascinating is the sheer number of well known quotes which are attributed to the bible yet appear nowhere in it.  \"Do unto others as you would have them do unto you\" is such an example.

Einstein\'s letters and essays on philosophy, politics, and sociology are a much more interesting read.  If you get the chance, read \"In my later years\" which is a collection of such articles.

Two of my personal favorites. :D

The meeting of two personalities is like the contact of two chemical substances: if there is any reaction, both are transformed.
Carl Jung (1875 - 1961)

You can make more friends in two months by becoming interested in other people than you can in two years by trying to get other people interested in you.
Dale Carnegie
