Title: OpenAl
Post by: Suno_Regin on November 23, 2005, 05:26:58 pm
I got this error after trying an OpenAl sound system-option thing...

EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION at 0000000

The fact that it\'s all 0\'s, means that I don\'t have something to play this sound system...What is it for?

You actually got a NULL access violation?...  :P  Nifty.

Don\'t quote me on this, but I think you need to install something to support OpenAL.

Same for me.

I installed the OpenAL library through the installer. Crashed.

I copied OpenAL libraries from other games that use it sucessfully (Vavoom, Doomsday, Scorched3D, VegaStrike) into the PlaneShift folder and the Windows system folder - no change.

For Windows, I successfully use DirectShow, and for Linux Software instead now.

My system: Windows 2000 SP4 Rollup 2, TerraTec DMX Xfire 1024.
